This scene was in my dream last night, and I can see it clearly, it's from a tv show, maybe 80's or 90's, opening credits..
There is a man and woman standing on a stoop of their apartment, I presume in NYC, and he comes out to get the newspaper in his tightie whities, and she's shooing him to hurry up and grab it and run back inside.
OMG it's driving me nuts..where was that scene from?! I tried Googling and nothing. I want to say its from Friends, but I don't think it is. Is it from a movie maybe? A movie I've seen so many times I think it must be from a tv show?
Help!

Don't know about a TV show, but the first thing that came to my mind was a commercial.

I remember a scene like that from a movie with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant. They were in England and Hugh Grant's roommate went out on the stoop in his tighty whities. Can't remember the name of the movie though...

I know exactly what you are talking about but can't recall it either. Now it is going to drive me crazy too I don't think it is from Notting Hill - I think is was a TV show - seems like the woman/wife was holding a cup of coffee and had on a bathrobe (which for some reason I picture as blue, but not sure about that). Is it from the Julia Roberts/Hugh grant movie "Notting Hill"? She's a famous American star who stays overnight at an ordinary English boyfriend's house. in the morning, his slovenly roommate retrieves the newspaper from the front stoop only to have a gaggle of photogs and paparazzi cheering him on in his BVDs, so he takes a bow and goes back inside the flat.
Seika you posted what I was thinking!

The friends apartment didn't have a "stoop" either, just an indoor hallway, but it sounds like something that would happen on Friends.
Seinfeld? King of Queens? Everybody Loves Raymond?

oh yvonne : I think I just remembered it. I think it might be a scene from "She's Having a Baby" with Kevin Bacon and Elizabeth McGovern. I believe it is the scene when she is in labor and he is thinking about about their life together and he is remembering running out to get the paper in his undies and she is standing at the doorway laughing. I'm not 100% sure but I am thinking that is where it is from.

I kept thinking it was maybe Friends but I knew it wasn't. Thank you, yay! Desperately Seeking Susan I saw through once and then after I've seen it in bits and pieces. I never cared for the movie at all. I remember going to see it at the movies when it came out, but I remember hating it. FIsher King, I never did see at all.

I love that both of these bad boys of the 80s turned their lives around so we can still admire their beauty.
