I know this won't be for everyone, but my mom used to make this dessert periodically and my brother and I like loved it and christened it "fish eye pudding". Most tapioca desserts are custardy but this one is almost like an apple pie tapioca. I found a recipe online about 10 years ago, and I'm so glad that I printed it out because I can't find it anymore.
I texted my brother and teased him with a picture. I've only made it 2-3 times since finding the recipe because my family thinks it's gross
Anyone else have a childhood dish they love?

When we would have left over rice, my mom would put cinnamon and sugar on it and pour milk over the top. Eat it just like that, not cooked like rice pudding. Yum!

My Mum would add a spoonful of ice cream to a bowl of warm rice pudding just as she handed it to us. The sensation of hot and cold in one mouthful was always fun.

My mom made a no-bake cheesecake with canned cherry topping. Loved it so much when I was a kid.

I have a recipe for Frog Eye Salad. If I remember right it has little pasta pieces (acine de pepe) and pineapple, coconut, and vanilla pudding. Probably some other stuff that I can't think of right now.
