No popular Sci-Fi and/or fantasy/ Comic types of movies for me... (Lord of the Rings, Twighlights, Harry Potter., etc---I'd be in a ' coma of boredom'*** within 5 minutes). zzzzzzz DH and I always marvel that neither of us have seen " Gone With The Wind", nor do we have any desire to. We should at LEAST give it a try, though. EVERYONE I know in this world is SHOCKED that I've never seen " Sound of Music"..... A friend even gave me a DVD as a gift years ago, with plans for all of us to have a slumber party and watch together----annnnd, we still haven't done it annnd, the DVD is still sealed in plastic. I have been a singer and a music lover my entire life, so I don't know WHY I still honestly have no desire to watch it!! (IF my girlfriends and I EVER have that slumber party we've talked about for years....LOL....THEN it would be fun to watch....I guess ? Not NEVER, but----DH was SHOCKED that I'd never seen " ET".....I had fun watching it with him for my first time a few years ago--what a cute movie!!!
Star Wars----again, saw it only a few years ago w/ DH----not my genre, so I was kinda bored. Plus, having to ask DH soo many questions---ugh! I don't GET Sci-fi !!! GamGam ....awww, I'm bummed that you didn't like "Planes, Trains, Automobiles"---which is my FAVORITE movie in the world! But, different tastes is what makes us all interesting---! You said you and DH wished you hadn't watched it....you "suffered" through the entire thing? when I can't stand a movie, I cannot sit through it--you must be much more patient than I am! But, maybe you were hoping it would get better? ** I made up the expression "Coma of BOREDOM" and many people think it's funny. I started saying that when we used to go to the movies A LOT more, and many times, if it was something DH picked, I would be SO bored and miserable, I would go right to sleep! It was actually a nice nap! I worked nights for manyyy years, so I was alwayyys tired already! ..........I loved it when we'd go to theatres in malls; instead of a nap, I'd leave and go shopping, or go to a book store and read. Lotsa fun, but such a waste of money on my ticket. THEN we got smart and either went to separate movies, or he waited till it came out on VHS or later---on DVD. Now, we RARELY go to movies anymore! THANK YOU, Netflix, Apple, etc !!! If there's a big adventure/ action-ee movie that DH really wants to experience on the big screen, he goes alone.

Oh....the list is long. Too long to put down here.
I don't watch horror films, zombie films, violent films, etc. I won't watch comedies that rely on gross humor or sex-related humor or "Boy is this character stupid" kind of humor. I have no interest in movies that are basically just about sex or that add tons of sex just to have it in the film.
The violent film issue can wipe out so many movies---drama, action, suspense, historical, etc. So I lose a lot just with that.

Most of them. I'm just not a movie person. I could probably count the ones I've seen without having to use my toes.

Forrest Gump. I'm a Tom Hanks fan but I have no desire to ever see it. I have honestly tried to sit through this movie multiple times but it always loses my interest and I've never watched it through to the end.

I don't mind it in war movies, since I think it belongs there. Violence, Sex & Swearing when they don't fit just ruin it for me. It seems over the top forced in a lot of them. Slapstick comedy isn't my thing either.

Different strokes etc.... you listed my 2 favorite movies of all time - Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill! I love every Quentin Tarantino movie. I also loved the Godfather movies and Scar Face. I don't think I've ever liked a single one of his movies. I'm also not a Quentin Tarantino fan. I watched part of Kill Bill, but ugh. It's so boring. And I don't like Uma Thurman as an actress. Def won't be watching Pulp Fiction. Some of y'all named some of my favorite movies!! I love WWII, dystopian society, and other such films. I am not a big fan of classic films like Roman Holiday, Gone with the Wind, etc. I probably will never see them. Soundtracks are great but the plots always bore me. I also don't care for true horror or gore. Gore like the Hostel or Saw movies. I have a very active imagination so horror movies don't scare me while I'm watching them -- it's thinking about the possibilities afterward haha.

Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, LOTR, Batman/comic based, vampire stuff, horror, sci fi. All the oldies too Sound of Music, Godfather, Rocky, James Bond, etc. Most of the movies listed in this thread actually. I'm not a movie person and never have been. More of a tv person, get invested long term in the characters.
I think with some of them if you didn't watch them when they came out then to watch them now the whole thing from the camera work to the dialogue just seems awful. But if you loved it 20years ago you'll keep watching that beloved classic.
