Someone peed on one of the Christmas gifts. The gift is in a tall box about 10', 120" movie screen. It was so much fun to wrap too. It is two suspects but pretty sure it was the Whippet. This is very uncommon though, think he is probably intimidated by the large shiny box in his house. I think in Whippet world if it is scary pee on it to show who is boss.
Luckily the item in the box is wrapped in plastic and the pee did not infiltrate. The box is so big but I had to get it off the floor so I now have it sitting on a paint can, very attractive.
Off to to a festive holiday season and it isn't even December.

It is one of the two in my avatar, pretty sure it is the smaller one on the left, such a punk.

For a few years, our Christmas tree was behind a baby gate play yard because my 3 male Miniature Dachshunds could not understand why they were in trouble for peeing on a tree. All 3 were housebroken but a tree in the living room..."Woohoo, my mom was so nice to bring me a tree so I don't have to go outside in the cold and wet..."

Omg Was he trying to hit the tree? No tree yet, we are still on the fence about a tree and definitely not a real tree. I will be game on break soon so my attempt a tree when I can supervise the heard.

I know how frustrating it is to find a dog has peed in the house when you know they are house broken and not sick. I hope you are able to rewrap it or the recipient doesn't mind!

Oh I am with you, I don't have pee, but my cute little pup decided to chew on my snowman fence that is under the tree. We had words last night, we will see what I come home to tonight...
May the rest of the season get better!

I validate you! Our late great daxie did something similar, more time critical and harder to fix.... My late MIL fell for a common tourist trap around here and bought one of the carved wooden giraffe statues to take home to Wales. It was nearly as tall as she was! This was 2 days before she was to fly. Scrumpy hated it on sight so she put it in her room ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/tongue.jpg.gif) My late FIL (smart thinking) managed to convince her that he (Scrumpy) was sending a message to their collie back home.

Hahaha...too funny! I loved the story of the dogs peeing on the tree too. For us, it's that my pitbull has a terribly wicked tail. And she's always happy and wagging that thing. I have ornaments flying all over the place when she stands near the tree.

Thank you for this, OP. I needed a little bit of levity injected into this week. I am struggling with some things, feeling Grinchy, and this actually made me burst out laughing.

We were not prepared for it after having tails over the back for so long! The tail over the coffee table, the tail hitting you and the tail thumping against the walls OP I'm sorry someone does not like the packaging and decided to take care of it!

Ugh! SO not fun! On a related note, my sister always sends wrapped gifts from out of state and I always have to ask her, "Is there anything in any of those gifts that will get chewed open and eaten if I put it under the tree?"

Might be another reason not to get a tree this year. Between the two Greyhounds we have 43" of tail furious and bony high speed wagging. Wow, that is almost four feet of tail. They both are prone to "happy tail" which involves smacking their tails on walls then the tail splits and bleeds and blood spatters everywhere. We actually use photos of their blood spatter with our forensic science majors to see if they can figure out what caused the pattern. Don't need to add that to our holiday decorating.

Now you've done it. I ordered a new tree and now I'm worried he will mark it. This will be his first Christmas with us.

my bigger dog has never bothered the Christmas tree but the little one managed to get a hold a dough ornament that's probably more than 15 years old. he didn't get far into it before we caught him but he definitely got into it. I just bought a bunch of fabric ornaments that look like a couple of his stuffed toys. now I'm worried he'll see them and think they are his for the taking.

in my house you can tell the culprit by simply looking at them and saying "what did you do?" The guilty one usually looks away...like cranes her neck backward to avoid looking at you. Cracks me up every time. I've tried to do it when nothing bad was done, and she has no reaction.

How dare that big scary box!
My pomeranian got one the other day. I'm grateful it was double boxed and that it was the Pom and not the great Dane. The Dane has waggly tail syndrome, he sent Mary flying across the room the other day and her arm snapped off. Christmas tragedy, I'm just happy poor baby Jesus wasn't left motherless.
They're being moved to a higher shelf.

I feel your pain. Mr. Jack, my Dachshund hikes his leg to anything new brought into the house. Christmas is always tricky with him around, but I'm a traditionalist and like my presents under the tree as much as possible.
Thanks for the fun post! I needed a smile.
