I have heard there is a class action suit but I never purchased the product so I haven't paid that much attention to it and couldn't speak to the validity of the email you received.

Got an email. Clicked on the link and submitted my info. Easiest thing ever. I bought it once, didn't like it at all and threw it away. I'm getting $25 for my troubles. You do need the code they gave you.

I never used the product but did hear about the class action lawsuit. I have received 2 payments from Red Bull though.
