So, do you wear duck boots? Do you have a favorite? Do they run small? Link us. Would love to know what you think and wear.

Like these? They are seriously unattractive. I think they fall in the category of function over cute. I feel the same way about rain boots/wellies. You can add a cute color, floral, or plaid pattern, but they are still rubber shoes! Yes, I would wear both. AND the hiking boots.

Duck boots are cute, but Hunter boots are more practical for mucking out stalls and such. Duck boots with their laces will end up all poopy, whereas Hunter boots can quickly be hosed off. I've had the low cut Duck boots just for rainwear and really liked them.

I heard on the news the other day that LLBean had to increase production of the duck boots they make. They have been around forever. I had a pair in high school a million years ago and they kept your feet dry, but they definitely don't keep them warm out in the cold weather particularly snow.

I have a pair of lined LL Bean boots and they are quite toasty. I did have to order a wide size and it took almost 6 months for me to get my boots. I missed the entire soccer season for which I bought them but planning to wear them on the sidelines tomorrow and all this weekend to keep my toes toasty! SaveSave

Look at these. Sperry makes them in pink, and I think they look SO cute.

It may be a regional thing? They are quite popular here as they were when I was in HS in the 90's.

They were very popular when I was in high school and college in the 80s, and now they are very popular again among the high school and college-age kids my kids go to school with. Bean boots in particular. DD picked out a pair for Christmas. We scored a great deal on a brand new pair at a Bean outlet store.

I coveted these back in Jr high (early 1980s) - everyone had a pair (or more) and they just weren't in my parents budget. Finally mum found a like-new pair of low-cut ones at a yard sale in my size and I was thrilled...except they hit me wrong on the ankle and left blisters that bled They were blue, irc.

I have a pair I bought from LL Bean 27 years ago. Still perfectly good. Yeah, they're not pretty but they keep my feet warm and dry when I need them to.

I have a pair that I wear when there is snow on the ground. There is no way in hell I'm wearing anything other than sturdy, warm shoes when there is snow on the ground. Duck shoes fit the bill. My feet don't get wet, and the snow and salt won't wreck them.

I think those pink ones are so cute. Way cuter and more comfortable than Hunter boots. I'd buy a pair, but we just don't get that kind of weather in Houston

I bought a cute pair of fur-trimmed Sperry duck boots a few weeks ago. As a child of the 80s they speak to me and they are practical too. I haven't worn them yet but am looking forward to it when the snow flies.

My college kiddo goes to University of Arkansas. She got the LL Bean pair. She wears them a lot walking around campus in rain (and sometimes snow). And she likes that they have a lifetime warranty.

Look at these. Sperry makes them in pink, and I think they look SO cute. Oh my goodness I would be all over those if they were in shoes. I didn't have the boots but I did have my duck shoes in high school and college. LOVED those things. I think I got rid of them about 15 yrs ago. I did break down maybe 5 yrs ago and got some Ugg low profile duck shoes. Not quite the same but for the limited snow and cold weather we get here they work.

Gah! Now I've looked at the Sperry's site and I can get a pair of duck boots in the boys sizes for an awesome price. I hate when my toes get cold in the winter. My WM snow boots I got on clearance for less than $5.00 aren't the best.

smartypants71, I lived in the Austin area for 14 years. Yep, never needed anything. But we have been in NC now for 4 1/2 years, and I need everything here--gloves, earmuffs, boots, you name it! naby64, they do make them in pink duck shoes. Do I dare tell you that?

Duck boots may replace Hunters if Jennifer Boyle keeps ranting. I love both! Try putting Ugg or Hunter brand insoles in all your shoes. Heaven!

They are so popular with teens now that I would never wear them. But I had multiple pairs when I was a teen in the 80s. My then boyfriend, now husband, was amused that I had them in every length - calf high, ankle high and low cut.

I had some Merrells like 20 years ago. I loved them. I ended up giving them off of my feet to a homeless woman who was sleeping with her buggy near our old apartment one winter. She had no shoes on her feet at all. We then went home and got her some socks, a jacket and blankets too. ANYWAY - DH still has his from the same time I bought mine. We both love them and I intend to buy another pair this year - but probably not until after I've finished Christmas shopping. DD has these, but they are a about 4 years old now and too small for her. I'll be confiscating them LOL.

When you live in Minnesota, this is your winter boot reality. My Sorel boots are the best. They come up high, they have a zipper, and they are great for trudging through real effing snow - not a dusting. I actually get compliments on my boots for being cute. Seriously. You can't buy them anymore and they were not cheap. When I don't wear these sexy boots and need something to keep my feel warm when it's -20, I wear a pair of Uggs. Uggs are great if you need something that you can wear for several hours - like when you go to a hockey game. You get tired of clunking around in big boots. Minnesota Reality Boots
