Hi, Pokey friends! I finally got all the Christmas decorations up from the basement, but they are in a mess in my living room. I have had a bit of a stomach bug this weekend and couldn't even go to school today. Hopefully it will ease up this afternoon. DH is having his eye surgery and needs me to drive him. If not, Em will have to be the chauffeur. I am excited to see all your Christmas decorations. grammadee, I am sorry your plans were squashed, but glad you are getting some help with cleaning. Be careful with that arm. maribeth, how is the new kitty dealing with the Christmas decor? kellyr21, I hope you are getting your cards finished. Mine are done but not addressed yet. I'm slow! scrapincin, your cards are ready to go? Good for you. I'm glad you enjoyed the kids' performances. That's part of what I love about Christmas. The concerts have been really good. LisaDV, I'm sure you are busy with Holiday preparations. How is your daughter doing? Does weather seem to affect her condition? I'll check back in later. Have a great day!

how is the new kitty dealing with the Christmas decor? so far so good. I did not put out my treasures, or the few that I did were on very high shelves that she can not get to as of yet.

Hey ladies! Hope you are all having a nice Monday so far. I had a nice weekend. But I don't know what we were thinking to go to Walmart on Saturday evening. LOL! So hectic!!! Man, I plan to stay away from there or any other big stores until after Christmas. If I do go, it is for a specific thing to get in there and out as fast as possible. LOL! I am working on more cards this week and I will share some pics soon too. I wish I could come up with some different designs but until then I just keep creating the same ones with different pp and colors. nylene- Oh, I hope you feel better! Have some hot tea and hope you can relax. Also, hope your dh's eye procedure goes well. Prayers up! grammadee- Sending you some sunny Cali rays to warm you up and hope you are feeling better too. Hang in there! maribeth- Glad you got most of your decorations up. We will start our deco tomorrow. I have been enjoying watching some of the Hallmark Christmas movies too. That Nutcraker one on Saturday night got me crying at the end. LOL! scrapincin- Hey, they just fired our Rams football coach! I was so surprised to wake up to this news today. So now we will see what's next. Waving hi to Jana, justjac and you other sweet ladies.

That Nutcraker one on Saturday night got me crying at the end. LOL! Yes, that was a tear jerker - but then again I cry in most of them.

Good Monday evening. Dh took the parcels that justjac & hubby wrapped and packaged for me to town to mail today. My next Christmas task is to sort all the gifts ready for wrapping this next weekend. The cleaning lady came today, and while she was here I puttered around in my scraproom, so now my counters are clear enough to do something if the mood strikes me. Made her a quick Christmas card today. using scraps from my last creating frenzy. nylene, I hope you are feeling better, and that your husband's procedure went well. scrapincin, I hope you are safe and warm and out of that snow storm. LisaDV, too. We have had some cold temps, but not much white stuff on the yard or the roads. Looking forward to seeing your décor, maribeth, and your cards, kellyr21.

Hey everybody. grammadee I'm glad you got them mailed and had help with the cleaning. I mailed the last of my Christmas cards yesterday. I also got started assembling my December Daily. I'm using a 6x8 Snap album. I also finished one more layout for Your December Story. Tonight we are off to buy gift wrap to get that wrapping started. kellyr21 we are going to try to stay away from Walmart, too.

grammadee, so sorry about your arm! Hope it heals quickly. nylene, your page is gorgeous. Can't wait to get to something other than my phone to view and read. Thanks for asking about dd. We've been seeing improvements over the last 2 weeks but are currently traveling. Yesterday was a big outing and today the kids and I are taking amtrak from Chicago (where we just had Christmas with dh's side) to my sister's (where dh will join us Friday and we'll do Christmas this weekend before going home. She's hurting now due to motion sickness. I hope after a couple of days of no traveling and some relaxation she'll be better. scrapincin, beautiful decor. Hello to everyone. Hope all are well.

We had friends over for coffee today: a mini gift exchange and we ate some of my Christmas cookies. Dh went out to play cards tonight, and took a plate of them with him. Great December pages, justjac. Left you some love in the Gallery. Found some other really cool creations there as well: worth a look for those who have not been there for awhile. Thanks for sharing your holiday décor, scrapincin. Your home looks very inviting outside and in. Safe travels, LisaDV. That's a lot of Christmases! How are you feeling, nylene? Better, I hope. Tomorrow I need to start the gift sorting. The way my mind--and my body--is functioning, it might take awhile. Dh's sister invited me to the library tea tomorrow, but not sure if I will go. I am turning into a real homebody...

Hi, Pokeys! Thanks for your well wishes. My fever broke last night and I was watching TV when a Prevnar commercial came on. They gave the side effects, and it just dawned on me that my feeling lousy was because of the Prevnar shot I got on Friday.(plus flu shot) I hadn't even thought of that. I feel fine today and was glad to go back to school. I don't usually get reactions to immunizations, but of course this was my only Prevnar. maribeth, I'm glad your new 4-footed baby has not been a problem with Christmas decorations. I am tending 2 cats for my neighbors who are in CA. One is the little one they got about the same day you got yours. It was right after their other one died, and was a rescue from a grocery parking lot. scrapincin, I love your holiday decor. My village is up and DH will bring the tree up tonight. Lyssie came yesterday to help me finish with the Village. justjac, I love seeing your day-to-day Christmas preparations. That's going to be a great album. Glad you got to spend some time with grammadee and DH. grammadee, how are you feeling? I'm sure it's frustrating to change all your plans. Take it easy and let people wait on you. It may be the only time you get to do that!! LisaDV, I am sorry your DD is struggling. I'm sure that traveling is hard on her, but I'm sure the change of scenery is good for her emotional health. Hang in there. With you little family, I'm sure you have lots to do. kellyr21, I use the same Christmas card design for all my cards each year. I don't have enough ideas to make them unique. Can't wait to see what you have done. Are you decorated? I need to go deliver neighbor gifts before it gets dark. Be back later.

Happy Wednesday! I woke up feeling a cold coming on and I hope it goes away soon. I have a dinner show to go to on Friday and don't want to miss it. Fingers crossed. You all will be proud to know I finished some of my cards and Ron even sold some of them at work today! So, I hope to get more done this week for selling and for my personal use. I was trying to upload at Flickr and it kept given me the "fail" sign. Any suggestions? nylene- So happy to hear you are feeling better! We hope to get our decorations started tonight and the rest of the week. scrapincin- Oh your decorations and tree look great! Did you finish all your baking with your dgd? Yeah, this football season was disappointing but maybe next year the Browns and the Rams will get it together. maribeth- How are your fur babies doing? Right now, I am watching that show on tv called "Too Cute" and thought of your pets. justjac- So neat to see how you are scrappin your recent activities. Love your fancy nails. I haven't gone to the nail shop in ages, maybe since my wedding. It will be nice to go again especially to get in that massaging chair. LOL! Any more plays in the future? grammadee- Hope you are getting better each day. LisaDV- Good seeing ya!

Glad you're feeling better, nylene. Was that your pneumonia shot? That one hit me as well last fall. Glad you are feeling more ready to take on the upcoming season. kellyr21, don't you get sick now. No time for that! I am doing okay. This is not the December I imagined, but then I learned a long time ago that Whoever is in charge, it most definitely is not ME! Getting a little more mobility in the arm. Taking pain killers at night only. My sil picked me up to attend a ladies' tea in town today, and then dh & I joined a friend in town later for supper. Also, today, I sorted the gifts into boxes, one for each family. When the girls come, we can attack them box by box. The only shopping I need to do is for groceries. Because the LSS got an item in that I had been waiting for a gift, I think we will head into Lloyd on Monday to grocery shop and pick that up along with any other last minute items we need. Have a great evening, ladies!

How are your fur babies doing? Right now, I am watching that show on tv called "Too Cute" and thought of your pets Kelly, thank you for asking - they are all doing great. We were so concerned that are older cat would not welcome another, he has been top cat all these years, but he is getting along just great with ZoZo. He cleans her, and they sleep together at times. The rustle and play a little too. Both of them have stayed away from the Christmas tree and the decorations. We are quite amazed. Hope you are enjoying the holiday season.

Happy Thursday! I am definitely sick and I had a tough time sleeping last night. My throat was so dry and scratchy. That is one of the worst cold symptons. Yuck! But right now it feels better. I just hope Ron doesn't catch it and them we will both be pitiful. But I did have some good news. I sold more cards today and that makes me happy. Here are some of the ones I made. kellyr21 - Feel better soon! Loving your festive cards. So glad you were able to get Flickr to cooperate. I just adore the large blooms, it really gives these cards such presence. The one with the plaid is my favorite, I am very partial to red plaid, and especially at Christmas.

kellyr21 and grammadee, I love your beautiful cards. I left you love in the gallery. My tree is up! I still have some ornaments to add and I'm still stringing the lights on the Village, but after school tomorrow I should be able to finish everything and put the boxes away It will be so nice to have it all done. I'll take photos once it's finished. kellyr21, I hope you feel better soon and that Ron doesn't get your bugs. I need to get dinner ready early so we can drive out to Kylie's Orchestra Concert tonight. Tomorrow we have tickets (with Em and Doug) to a wonderful Christmas play/musical. That will finish all the events we have scheduled at night before Christmas. Next week looks pretty empty on our calendar compared to the last 2 weeks. LOL I am looking forward to it. I will check back in later. Have a great day!

Glad everyone is getting all those December activities accomplished & attended. Whoohoo on your tree nylene! Love your cards, kellyr21. Looking forward to seeing your Christmas house, maribeth. Bet you will be happy to be back home to have a quiet Christmas with your little family, LisaDV: what wintery weather for you to be out in! This evening, we plan to attend a community church Christmas program. Tomorrow my niece's girls are coming to wrap gifts. I actually finished a page yesterday to start my winter album. Used the December Sketch challenge. You have seen the photo before, because it was used on a page in the family calendar, but this way it gets into an album. scrapincin, you asked if I have a snow pen. I did, but it dried up. To get the snowy effects on the page and my card, I used Nuvo drops to outline edges, and then dusted on some Nuvo fine glitter while it was still wet. I have done the same with paint in the past. grammadee Love the layers on your layout! Great texture, too. Speaking of texture, wow kellyr21! I love the flowers on your cards. I probably won't do another play for a couple of years. That's about how long it takes me to forget how many hours it takes to rehearse and how little time it leaves for marking and socializing and the rest of my life other than work. scrapincin thanks for sharing your decorations. nylene I'm glad you are feeling better and that your tree is up! maribeth it is so nice to see you on the boards. Thanks for your kind feedback. Our mortgage is up for renewal this year. Because we are switching banks and our house is old, it needs to be assessed. That's happening as we speak. Later, DH and I are off to my staff party. Then the rest of my weekend is free! I need to address my work cards. Then I want to get scrappy. I have a page for Your December Story planned in my head. I also have eleven December Daily pages to get cracking on. Only 3 1/2 more days of school and then I'm done. I will post pics if I actually get things finished. Have a great weekend.

Good Saturday evening, Pokeys! Hoping you are enjoying the season, or making some progress toward finishing holiday prep.
The music at the church gathering was awesome! So glad we went last night.
Today my two elves came to wrap gifts for 14 people--plus some multiple &/or family gifts. I did the tags, and they did all the rest, including the cleanup. They made short work of a big job, and made it fun! I still have a few more to look after myself, but for those, I can use gift bags. Whew!!!

grammadee, I'm glad you have elf helpers!! Today I went to school and found that the furnace went out over the weekend and the school was ice cold. It was 15 degrees outside and not much warmer inside. My room is a tiny little room with an outside door (glass) so it tends to be cold anyway. The students all came in coats and some in mittens. By the time I got home I had to climb under my electric blanket with a heating pad. I am just starting to warm up. All my joints ache. I'm surprised they didn't cancel school and send the kids home, but I think most would go home to an empty house with a locked door. I hope they get it fixed by tomorrow. Decorating is finally done. I have a few gifts to buy for other teachers, but other than that I am ready for Christmas. I'll do the grocery shopping on Thursday. I hope you are all just about finished with your preparations. It's such a fun but busy time. Have a great week!

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a nice weekend. THis cold is still bothering me but it is better. I was feeling much better yesterday and last night I was able to go the Christmas dinner show. I had a good time and the play was nice about "Scrooge." After being sick all last week it was nice to got to this event. But later last night I started feeling like I was getting sick again! Darn it! So today, I am taking it easy and hoping to stay warm and cozy all day.
I got tags to make for Ron's gift bags and a few more cards to finish. It is so funny how I could hardly get any cards done for weeks then last week I was pumping them out. LOL! Here are some of them.
More Christmas Cards by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr
nylene - How did the pet baby sitting turn out? So cute! Wow, you and those poor kids were freezing! I hope they get the heat fixed soon. Last night, that play was in a gym and it was cold in there. I was bundled up and still cold. LOL! But when I hear how cold it is where you are I would been a popsicle!
grammadee - You glad you got some help with the gift wrapping. Hope you are feeling better each day too.
Waving hello to you all and have a restful evening!

Love your cards, kellyr21! Glad your house is ready for Christmas, nylene. Hope everyone else is getting to the end of the holiday prep! We got groceries today, including the turkey, and picked up the last of the gifts, including mine. Dh told me to "pick up something" for myself when I was getting a gift for someone else. I emailed the LSS lady with a $ amount, so when we got there, my gift was all wrapped and ready: all dh had to do was pay for it. And I don't know what's in the box. WIN/WIN!
