Good to hear from you, scrapincin . Was hoping you were just busy. Don't know how much I will get on here in the next few days. Internet service has been spotty, and we will have a houseful of people starting today. It will be a busy few days in more ways than one. Dd and hubby are picking up our new washer/dryer pair in the city today, and one day this week, the old ones are coming out of the house and the new ones are going in. Internet guy is coming on Friday. Meanwhile, we will have dd & family until after Christmas, plus ds & family until Saturday, and on Thursday evening (and again Christmas Day) dh's sister's family will be here for supper and some visiting. Then next week we plan to head down to Calgary for a couple of days to spend time/distribute gifts with our ds and family down there. So lots of craziness on the horizon, but lots of help, and lots of fun, too. Food and treats are in the freezer. Gifts are almost all wrapped. House is as clean and tidy as it is likely to get. My arm is improving. Still in a sling most of the day and all night, but not much pain unless I involuntarily try to move it too fast. Small routine tasks--like getting dressed-- are slow and sometimes more than a little frustrating, but as anyone who has been a Mom knows, you can find ways to do most things with one hand! Mobility is starting to come back, and a couple of times a day I take off the sling and give my joints some motion. Anyway, I wanted to take this calm before the storm to pop in here and wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

grammadee I'm glad your arm is improving. You are going to have a very busy Christmas! nylene Isn't it nice having the house ready for Christmas? kellyr21 I hope you are feeling better. scrapincin It is a very busy time of year. I'm waiting for an X-ray and then to see an orthopaedic surgeon. Nothing serious. It just goes back to when I had a lot of hip pain. My physiotherapist fixed it right up, but my doctor signed me up for a lot of tests and found something else which I''m really hoping is nothing. I filled out my cards for my co-workers yesterday. Tomorrow is my last day of work and only a half day at that. I'm having my class party and gift exchange with my students. I'm hoping to get some scrapping done on Friday. Have a great day everyone.

grammadee It's not exactly nothing but if I keep doing my physio exercises and add in a couple more then no further action should be needed. I will still keep my MRI with dye appointment in May, but if it looks okay, then I'm good to go.

Hey ladies and happy Thursday! We have had rain and I think more rain is on the way. I have been in Christmas craft mode all week. I finished the 30 plus gift treat bags for dh's job and more cards. I still have a few more cards to make and then I am done. I really loved making my own flowers and finding some ways to mix and match the pp.

Good to hear from you maribeth. Hope you have a relaxing holiday! Love your cards, kellyr21. Those soft flowers are really pretty! We had a busy day today with family. The guys moved the old laundry appliances out and got the new ones in place. We tried them out and everything is working. The best thing is that we got a rental cheque in the mail, and it covers their cost. Merry Christmas to us! Fed 16 for supper with a huge pan of frozen lasagne. Win/ win: more room in my freezer now! It was fun seeing the little guys having so much fun together. I think that "cousins" pp pack justjac gave me will get a workout once I get my photos printed. A highlight of their day was playing with the big boxes from the washer & dryer. Wish I could have bottled their giggles! No real plans for tomorrow. Just us and the kids & grandkids for supper The Internet guy is supposed to be here in the morning, so looking forward to having that fixed as well. Hope the boys continue to get along. I think my dil is going to get them going on crafts. We will see if they can sit still long enough! Happy Friday, everyone!

Nylene- no big deal about being late with the birthday after I was really late for yours! Besides this way I get to celebrate longer!
Kelly- your cards are beautiful as usual! I love how you use a larger flower and it always works! When I try that it looks awkward. Maybe I am awkward. I will be leaving you some love in the gsllery.

Happy Christmas Eve everyone!
One family has left. My ddil sent a photo of the boys in the back of the car. They were asleep before getting to the highway. Dd & family is here over the weekend. We will host Christmas dinner here. About a dozen people in all. Cheese mood and dips have been made. Turkey is out of the freezer. We opened some gifts last night. The rest are wrapped and ready to be trundled out under the tree.
Tonight we go to dh's sister's for a Ukrainian meatless feast.
Have a great evening, no matter how you spend it!

Merry Christmas eve and day to everyone. Hope ya'll have a fantastic week.
With 2 Christmas dinners and festivities under our belt, we are home for a relaxing time. Traveling kept us from decorating our outside and from most holiday baking but was well worth it.
Loving the cards and layouts shared here.

Merry Christmas, Pokeys! Woke up at 5:00 anticipating the Christmas morning excitement from the little man who's been getting up before 6:00 all week. The kid didn't wake up until after 7:00. Kids, these days!!! Face timed with the other kids & dgk's who are in their own homes this morning. Videos of gift opening and enjoying were exchanged. Turkey is in the oven. The house smells like Christmas. Gifts are opened, except for the ones which will be opened by our guests this evening. Little man is having a nap, so I decided I needed one too. After a quick stop in here of course. Good to see you back here, LisaDV with enough time to catch up on the boards. Enjoy your time with both families, justjac, and travel safely. Love that Christmas graphic, scrapincin !

Merry Christmas everyone!!!! I hope you all are enjoying your day. Our day started out great. We went to church and while there my dh got a call that his brother was in the hospital!!! OMG! It turns out that he had a reaction to some meds but ok. So he should be back home tomorrow. Prayers up for him, his sweet wife and little boy. So this sort of took some of the "merry" out of our Christmas but hopefully later we will have our dinner and gifts if not tomorrow. Glad you like my creations. I was still making more cards yesterday for fun and want to make a few more this week. I got the creative bug late but glad it showed up. LOL! maribeth- I sent you a message. Hope you and your hubby had a relaxing day today along with those cute pets of yours. scrapincin- HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!! Hey, your Browns won. What a nice present to you and the fans. nylene- Hope you and "our" family are having a nice day. Ron and I are healthy now. It is funny how these colds pop up and the disappear like they never existed. grammadee- Sounds like your little dgs was pooped out before Christmas morning or sleeping in to have full strength for all those presents. LisaDV & justjac- Waving hi to you gals too. Enjoy your plans.

Happy Monday! Although yesterday had it tough spots the evening ended up very nice. We had a yummy dinner and then took a drive to see some of the homes with their Christmas deco and lights. There is one house that was so fun. It is one of those that has the music and light show all coordinated. We turned to the designated radio station and listened to the holiday music in the car while watching the light show. So creative and fabulous. So we sat there for a long while and enjoyed the show. So the day ended on a happy note. Oh btw, my dbil was sent home today and better.
maribeth - Glad you all have a great day and you got your scrapping room together. Yeah, my craft area was a "hot mess" after all those cards but looks much better today.
Waving hi to you all!
Oh here are some more cards. I ran out of tape and decided to use the stickers from my EP collection. How fun right? LOL!

Hello Ladies. In Canada, we call today Boxing Day and it is a stat holiday. One of my most favorite days of the year! Nothing to prep, cook, or serve. No roasters or pots to scrub. Nothing to find, purchase, or wrap. There are many retailers open these days, and lots of bargains to be had in person or on line ( our own version of Black Friday) for those who want to participate, but I prefer to spend today at home, taking a break from all that frantic energy. A day to enjoy our gifts, eat delicious leftovers, and relax. Dd & family are here til tomorrow. So far today he has been busy with his Christmas loot. Dh's sister and our nephew & his dw will be here later for leftover turkey & trimmings with each person filling his or her own plate then nuking it to desired heat. Glad your dbil is back home kellyr21. That sounds like an awesome light display you saw. I wasn't out much this month after my injury, so didn't see many lights, except for "the Great Light Fight" on TV. Sounds like a nice peaceful Christmas for you, maribeth. When do you go back to work? And LisaDV, did I see you got a 3D printer for Christmas? Have you had a chance to play with it yet? We have built lots of tracks and Lego stuff around here this week, but I haven't broken out my new WeR scrappy tools yet. I hear the little man up from his nap, so gotta go. Happy Boxing Day, everyone!

kellyr21, so glad you bil is ok. So scary. Love your cards, those stickers work well. grammadee, I did post on the scrappy present thread that Don surprised me with a 3-D printer. Since my new computer (if you remember mine died and I have been using his laptop) isn't due in until the 29th. Also I need hubs to fix a counter top for it to rest on. So hopefully before the new year I'll have a chance to play with it. -my kids were building legos yesterday and today too. Hope you enjoy Boxing Day! Hope everyone can enjoy and rest up this week! maribeth, do you have this week off?

Good evening Pokeys! I feel like I have not been here in a week and it is just one day. I got a new computer for Christmas and having to get it running with what I use. Its a laptop by HP. Mine was dying and moving so slow I could not stand it. It was 7 years old and used hard. It was sad though since the docs gave me that when I retired. Love your cards kellyr21! LisaDV good to see you and I bet you can't wait to get that new computer! So grammadee how did it get called boxing day? I heard once before but I forget. nylene-sure hope you had a great holiday! We miss you but totally get how busy you are. I was in the scrap room cleaning up the clutter from over the past couple of days It will be ready to go tomorrow.Glad to hear everyone seemed to have a wonderful holiday! I am off for tonight!

There are lots of theories about the reason for the name of Boxing Day, scrapincin, but it originated in England. Seems it may have been named for the practice of either giving "Christmas boxes" {a gift as a form of annual tip) to "trades people" who served a household throughout the year, or putting donations into alms boxes for the poor. My Brit grandmother used to tell us it was a day for "boxing up the rubbish" from Chtistmas. Good news about your new computer, LisaDV. Hope it arrives on time, and the learning curve is a manageable one. Left you some love in the Gallery, kellyr21. Have a great day at work on Tuesday, maribeth! And a wonderful time with your family, justjac! Looking forward to hearing about all your holiday adventures, nylene...

Hi, Pokey Friends. I'm sorry I have been so absent. I went to bed Friday night feeling great and in the middle of the night woke up with a urinary tract infection. By morning I was really miserable and running all over town to find some Urgent Care center open on the 24th. I got started on the antibiotic and went home to finish up a couple of salads for Christmas. I slept the rest of the day and Christmas morning I felt worse. I managed to survive all three families here at once and then went back to bed. I slept all day yesterday. I think the antibiotic has finally taken hold because I feel exhausted but able to be up and around. I know that with my kidney disease I can't let a UTI go for even a day, but I got the antibiotics as soon as I could and got started. I need to follow up with my Nephrologist once the meds are finished. Madi & Me, I am so glad your BIL is doing better. Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas. We didn't get out to see the lights at all this year. scrapincin, congrats on the new computer! You will have it up and running in no time. Thank you for the email. Your card is beautiful. LisaDV, a 3D printer? Wow, what a fun thing for your family. I hope your computer comes on time so you can do some exciting things. maribeth, don't worry about the Christmas cards. Everyone has one of those years and everyone understands. Cards are great but not necessarily a must, I think. grammadee, it sounds like Boxing Day is a great sale day, but like Black Friday, I'd chose to stay home and avoid the crowds. LOL! justjac, sounds like you are splitting your time with your parents and in-laws. Hope you had a great time. I need to clean up the scraproom. I decided the last minute Friday afternoon to make glitter ornaments for each of the grands with their names and the year in vinyl. Just a simple little remembrance, but it made a mess of the scraproom. Take care of yourselves and have a great last week of the year. I don't go back to school until Jan. 4 so it gives me some time to maybe do a little scrapping. Dh gave me a Big Shot for Christmas since my Cuttlebug is on its last legs. I can't wait to use it.

Good to hear from you, nylene! Sorry to hear you were sick over Christmas. How sad that you missed out on the festivities you planned. I hope you are well on your way to feeling better now. dd & family just left and the house is quiet. Sent a lot of leftovers with them, but kept enough to make Turkey a la King for supper tonight. Dh and I will eat our fill, and we will freeze the rest for a treat later. I have the laundry going in my new appliances. Sometime today I need to pack up clothes and one last box of gifts. Tomorrow we leave for Calgary for a couple of days with our oldest ds and family. Then home for New Years'. The Eve will be pretty quiet here at home. The Day we are invited out for a roast beef supper.

Happy Tuesday! Slow day today for me. It was beautiful out so I enjoyed a walk in that warmth after several chilly days. Thanks for all the love on my cards. I am giggling at myself about these cards. After having no mojo they all of a sudden I got it back and still could make a few more cards. LOL! But I think I will stop for now. Don't want to burn my mojo out. nylene- Oh my! I am so sorry to hear you weren't feeling well on Christmas. Thankfully you were able to get the meds you needed and lots of tlc. Sending you warm wishes and hope you continue to feel better. Maybe playing with your new Big Shot will help. nylene & scrapincin - Thanks for the praise you both left for me at Scrapbook dot com. I saw I had lots of notifications over there and it was so sweet to know they were from you gals. scrapincin & LisaDV - Wow, you got some new tech toys. I haven't heard of a 3-d printer so I am looking forward to hearing what it does. grammadee- You really had a great family time. Hope you upcoming plans are equally enjoyable! Thanks for sharing about Boxing Day. I heard of it but never knew what it was. Sounds like a stress free holiday. maribeth- I know how you feel! I thought I wasn't gonna make cards either and then mojo hit me. I usually make cards for our business as well as my personal use. Months ago, I started shopping for all the supplies and felt a little disappointed with the selection of pp this year. But here and there I found some embellishments I liked and that felt better. But those supplies sat for some weeks before I could really start making cards. So I guess since we create and craft all year, it is normal for us to burn out or just get plain tired especially at Christmas with so much to do.

Just popping in to say hi before we pack up dh's truck for our drive to Calgary today. Planning to spend Thursday with ds & family, then drive home again on Friday. Hoping I have an opportunity to print photos on the way home, but that may have to wait until next week, depending on when we get away and what dh's tolerance level is for delays on the way home.
Hoping everyone is having a peaceful last week of the year, and that at least some of us get some crafty time!

Thank you for the well wishes. It's amazing what 4 days of antibiotics will do. I cleaned up my scraproom and, of course, had such a desire to scrap. So I messed it up but finished 3 layouts. I will post the others later as I have a couple of things to add to them. I have gathered up papers and embellishments for a few other layouts too. I need to scrap while I have the mojo! Have a safe trip, grammadee! I hope you take lots of photos to scrap. Loved the comment about "dh's tolerance level for delays". I had to giggle a little. kellyr21, I wish we had your warmer weather right now. We have an Wedding Reception to attend tonight and it's barely 20 degrees. It will be colder after dark. I envy your ability to take a walk. I'm ready for summer again already! scrapincin, How's the new computer set-up going? I hope you are getting some scrappy time. When do you usually take down all the Christmas decorations? Have you had the grands around this week? Have a great week, Pokeys!

Good evening Pokeys! Well the computer is all set up and I add what I want as I go. It only had Windows 10 on it when I got it and you add apps you use not all that stuff they used to cram onto the computers that no one ever used. I have the scrap room ready to go and I may go in and scrap something or work on cards. I need to get back in the swing of things. nylene- love your layout of that sweet Alex. I take my tree and stuff down after New Years so probably next Monday. Since the house looks a little drab I put out my snowman collection to liven it up a little! I have not had the kids as their half sister who is 16 has been there all week. Maybe they will be here next week as Abby will be gone as she lives at Fort Hood, TX. with her mom and step dad. I was so sad to hear you were you were sick over Christmas. I am afraid my sister is getting sick again. She sees the infectious disease dr. tomorrow. They may do a transplant where they do a colonoscopy and transplant the good bacteria into her colon. It has a 98% success rate. grammadee hope you have fun with your DS and family! Thanks for explaining Boxing Day. kellyr21 when the Browns won that game I was stunned! It was a good thing a very good thing. maribeth- hope your first day back to work went well. LisaDV-did your printer get there yet? I really do not understand what those do but I hppe you like it. justjac-waving hi to you and waiting to see more of your creations! BBL
