I have shared this before but this year was the 23rd year I took a photo of my boys in front of our fireplace and I thought I would share the layout I have been progressively adding to. It is 4 8.5x11 pages. It helps that we live in the same house and they haven't moved far away.

Such good boys to cooperate with you every year! Did they ever give you a hassle when they were teenagers?

Totally awesome. I love that tradition!
For a lot of years, I took a picture of our DD with her dad every year on her birthday. I think we did it until the year she moved away for her first job. I really need to dig those photos out some day and scrapbook them.
Thanks for sharing.

Such good boys to cooperate with you every year! Did they ever give you a hassle when they were teenagers? There was one year I was lucky to get 3 photos because they gave me like 30 seconds to do it. I always take 3 because I am likely to get one that is better than the others. A few years I told them it would be the last year but now they know I'm going to do it every year as long as they are both available. This morning my younger son told me no he didn't want to get up so I should do it another time but then a few minutes later he was up.

What a wonderful tradition and how amazing to be able to see them grow up in the space of four short pages.

What wonderful traditions, both the annual photo, and the progressive LO! I bet when you look at the pages and see those growing kids, reluctant or eager for a photo, and memories just come flooding back!
The best group pic I ever took of my four was when they were antsy from posing, I clicked a shot and then yelled, "ok, we're done!" And then clicked one more.

That is so great! Reminds me of that Internet story about the two brothers that had their pics taken with Santa every year for their mom, even when they got to be in their 30's. That was awesome too.

What a great idea!
I did the first day of school in front our front door every year. When DS was a senior, he initially refused. I told him I'd follow him to school in my pjs if he didn't cooperate. He did, lol.

He did, lol. Absolutely! I did the first day of school also in a similar layout to this one but stopped on the first day of the first year of college.
They know I' easy to please and don't ask for much but when it comes to photos, they know how the river flows!

Those are awesome!
I do the the same thing with my two in front of the tree every Christmas morning. They are 23 & 29 now. I don't have an ongoing layout (amazing idea by the way) but I made a mini book this year with the pics.

What a wonderful tradition! My boys are at the age where they don't want to smile and look at the camera. Their first day of school pictures were painful for all of us and I didn't get a really good picture. I have let them know that their future girlfriends and wives will be seeing them.
