I used to be friends with her on Facebook. The last post I read was "I still have lots of openings in December for parties so don't wait too late to book one" and then that was the end of it for me. If she wants to market her Pampered Chef stuff have at it. I am not interested.

I wish her the best on her new chapter. I am sorry for her friends recent loss.
To be honest I like blogs that aren't specific and talk about a variety of things. I feel like I know the blogger better.
elannah- I don't like sales tactics either. I all about supporting my friends. I will be the first person at their new coffee bar or help promote their new album. "Friends" one time called my DH & I up to go out for awhile. My child was very ill that week. It was a horrible stressful week. My Mom told us to go and relax while she watched our child. "Friends" take us out and take us to the Amway's owners home that my DH was building at the time and then started selling us Amway. We were so pissed. Thought it was a really low blow when every one knew our child was sick and we were scared and stressed. DH & I now avoid sales tactic people like the plague.

I didn't even know who she was.
I found her post very ADd (as she said). She said she will no longer be posting about crafts. Except she will when she when she feels like it. And to showcase her product (? Never heard of her product). And once a month for 3m because she HAS to. And maybe at 3 am or 1 pm or just whenever.
I've found that people do that, obliterate their blog schedule when they think they have enough of a massive following that people will check their blog 24 hours a day hoping and begging for a new post. And that's rarely the case. That's usually when I stop going at all.
No skinnoff my back since I've never heard of her...

I've never heard of her either. Sounds like she's going to stop doing what made her successful?! I didn't know people followed blogs for Pampered Chef, but i've also never been to a PC party.

She is obnoxious about Pampered Chef. That is all I will say. That is not going to help her any, especially if she is taking over for a friend. I don't know what it is about the training these kind of companies give to their reps. Pushing guilting somebody is not going to make them want to order again. Your just going to side eye your last purchases with resentment. You would think they would want returning customers. Reminds me too much of telemarketing training. Yes, I have done telemarketing. You live in a college town and that is a main job for a lot of college kids. I hated the training. I hated bothering people. I was horrible at it. I would spend my time talking to little elderly ladies on the phone who were lonely. I didn't have the heart to give them a sales pitch. You can all guess how long I lasted at that job, lol. I know a lot of reps for these companies are great. I have ordered Avon & never got a sales pitch. I had some great demo's for SU. I don't like hard sales tactics and don't trust them. LavenderLayout- Thank you for the kind words.

The interpretation I got from her last post I read was "I am not going to meet my monthly goals if you don't book parties this month. I have lots of openings, people". I was Ok done!

This is why I hate these home marketing jobs. I buy lularoe but I can't buy local because the blood hounds want me to sign up. When I was a SAHM I couldn't go to a party and buy stuff without them assuming I needed a job. Mary kay, pampered chef, Tupperware. Seriously. Sell me the stuff. I'll job hunt on my own.

They often sell Tupperware at the mall in a kiosk and I buy it there. I don't care about hostess gifts and I don't plan to sign up so I just buy every couple of years there. There are no deals to be had, but I do like certain pieces. I like shopping at the mall better because I can get advice and no pressure. It's awesome that way.

For those who don't know, she has a line of products with Clear Snap, Spellbinders, 3L Adheasives, and I *think* she used to have a line of stencils, but I am not certain.

What kills me about most of the MLM companies is that they're mostly run by men (w/a token woman in marketing or HR), the men make up the 'C' level positions, men make up most of the board positions, but the profit is all based on the f riendships of women. Chaps me every time I think of it.

I go through that too as a SAHW. I buy my items online or at the mall. I like a lot of Avon things. Luckily, when I have used local reps from Avon no hard sales pressures. Now, I just mainly order online because it is easier for me. Stampin Up I would love to go to SU classes. The demo's in my area are usually part of large church groups. When I have asked a local demo I have been invited to go to church. I am not joking. I have looked hard for a regular SU demo and only find church groups. That is life in the Bible Belt. Nothing against churches or religion. I am one of the religions your born into and don't usually convert. I get the hard sale to convert. The only demo I ever found that was not part of a church group retired the week I found her. My area is very church crafting oriented for MLM's. It is a lot of or was CM or CTMH. Now, I just order SU online. I do make large SU orders when I do order. It will be like $600-$1000 at a time. I know I am making an online rep's day and gave her a big surprise. The only times I ever went to one of these hostess parties was with a girlfriend whose Aunt was selling something or other. We were only 16 and it was a bunch of her elderly friends that were really excited about the party. It was so fun and so cute to watch them. My girlfriend and I helped out at the party. A friend of mine started selling jewelry from one of the MLM jewelry companies. She asked me to model the pieces. I never got a sales pitch but I got free jewelry. I still have some of it but can't remember the companies name. I also modeled for Avon which was fun. That was a local agency thing. I had fun to do that. Got to hang out a beautiful historic mansion.

Never heard of her! The tupperware type party thing is something I totally avoid. As far as Pampered Chef...I attended ten monthly parties at my old job. I did a party. We discovered their "lifetime" guarantee was a joke. You must keep your receipt forever and must send back the heavy piece that cracked. No thanks. The dumb rep who had benefitted from all our parties should have replaced the first baking dish that cracked but lost everyones future business when we got the run around about we needed to have the original receipt...like you hang onto it like a birth certificate? After that, several of my coworkers had baking items crack too. Then I discovered most of their products were available in cooking stores nearby.

This! I feel like so may MLM target and take advantage of women. Can you make a living at it? Yes. Do most? Nope.
