The ducks have sealed themselves in their hut. I hope to god that they are not making new ducks. I don't see any eggs but it's dark and yucky in there. And she is good at hiding her nest.
The chickens think that they are now in prison. I can almost see the little bad boy smoking a ciggy. This bitter cold has stopped (him and his brother) from fighting. I am hope their nuts froze off.
There are a couple hundred sparrows around the coops picking up seed droppings. And the chicken hawk sits on top of the chicken cage, eyeing the chickens. I am glad we put a top on the cage.

Winter is in my f'ing yard.
We have a couple amusing moments if watching the duck slide down the path and watching him crash through the ice crust. Cheese Louise is so tinyshe floats across the ice layer.
The dog is not venturing far. She is old and breaking the ice layer is tough on her. The flat ice isn't much of a problem , since she has huge thick claws to hold with.

I am thinking that others should have some animal stories.

Soooo The Mac decides to give the ducks their lettuce this morning. But he just waves it at them, making them come down the path to him.
Well half of the path is still icy and of course that is the side they come down. Cheese Louise lets duck take the lead down the path. Duck starts slipping and sliding, because he is so fat and he is blocking the way. Cheese Louise gets so fed up with him, she flys down the path. Nobody gets between cheese Louise and her lettuce.

LOL LOL I so like this you need to write a book on their antics... Our weather for Ohio is warm ...not normal for us and I hate to say it we need the bitter cold and the snow...the bugs will take over out here and I do not like bugs... hugs...keep the stories coming..you make my morning a bit brighter...

Those f'ing ducks with their most lovely down coats, have been leaving their hut and sleeping in the snow. F'ing ducks! Because I have to chase them back into their hut in the middle if the night or the f'ing husband starts blathering about moving the duck hut and chicken house into the garage. Anyway the ducks got thrown into the chicken shack last night . I can assure you the chickens were not thrilled. May you be blessed 10000 times over for saving the ducks from frostbite. Maybe they will have ducklings in the near future if you have a drake.
