I mean.. why were his kids at this meeting?? they want to meet more billionaires?? what is happening to the idea of separating his kids and his business from the presidency?
what a mess --and it gets worse every day. Trump is out to use the office to make money--I am afraid.

I see him being challenged in court faster than he can bribe the next justice.
What I can't figure out is why people are still defending him.
I get it. He isn't Hillary or an evil liberal, but he is plain bat-shit destructive crazy. He makes all the other candidates seem like a god-send, if only we can get rid of him

It bothers me that the kids were there - I am afraid they are going to "trade" on these meetings for the benefit of their companies. they are getting access that most business people would not get

He makes all the other candidates seem like a god-send, if only we can get rid of him Everything he does is to promote his self interest. I don't think he gives a rats ass about the common people or America as a whole. As long as he profits, and his kids profit, he's doing a good job in his mind. I think reality shifts for him constantly, and his recent announcement about leaving his business interests to his sons is both an untruth and an impossibility. He's got ties all over the world, and I seriously doubt that he's going to leave all that to "make America great again". Same song, different day.. come on, electoral college! Fix this!

Ugh, this really really bothers me. It seems he can't pee without all his kids surrounding him. My wacky theory is that he has such a bad attention span he needs his kids there so between the 4 of them, well 5, as his son in law is also around, they can all remind him what happened during the meetings. And it really angers me that his supporters are ok with this. WHY?

Why is he having that meeting in the first place. Is his only agenda in the White House to promote businesses? Why wasn't Twitter invited? They should delete his account.

I think Ivanka is trump's right hand man and being groomed to take over the business when he retires. Like Hugh Hefner and his daughter. I think Trump's boys aren't as smart or ambitious and just never had that drive, but Trump keeps his boys around to be polite:

He won't take security briefings but he will take business meetings. Got it. And again, another petulant retaliatory decison(not to include Twitter today) because during the election Twitter would not allow him to use the hashtag, #crookedhillary. Seriously?

They can't even come to agreement that a foreign entity disrupting our elections is something worth looking into. but hey, we got to the bottom of Benghazi 7 times. So at least there's that.

Reading between the lines, I think Trump saying no new business deals will be during his term(s) in office means he doesn't trust his boys vision and discision skills for big things.

In fairness the Dems aren't doing much to challenge him either. We The People seem more upset and active than our elected officials.Where is the fighting spirit I see from the Republicans? If the opposite events had occurred, do you think for a moment the conservatives would be taking all this as quietly as the Democrats? Where is our party? I'm getting very frustrated.

well.. if you want to hear democratic anger and outrage.. listen to Governor Brown's speech to the scientists. he is ready to marshall california to save databases, to roll out the lawyers and to launch our own satellite to support the climate change science. people are donating.. and people are writing their congress people. we have seen many organizing parties out here.. maybe it all depends where you sit.

So Ivanks will be taking on the role of 'first daughter" ( but you know she'll be sitting in on decision making meetings)and Jared will have an office in the West Wing and somehow all this is legal?

I was appalled they were present. Maybe someone could argue Ivanka was entitled to be present, but adding her spouse and brothers was over the top. I haven't actually counted, but looking at photos Trump family must have been 20% of the participants.
Apparently Ivanka will perform First Lady duties.
Where are the people who were so fearful of Obama staging a coupe and becoming dictator??? (Or whatever crazy fear) Trump seems to be taking real actions to insinuate his family into our National Government for the long term.

an excerpt from the cnn article; bolded text are the things that jumped out at me (and make me feel sick to my stomach):
The details remain murky, however, both because of Trump's opaqueness and a federal nepotism law. Passed in 1967, the law states no public official -- from the President down to a low-level manager at a federal agency -- may hire or promote a relative.
Kushner is related to Trump by marriage but not blood, but the law specifies "son-in-law" as a type of relative covered by the rule.
However, there could be a loophole for the ban. The law states that any appointee found to have violated the law is "not entitled to pay" by the federal government, which offers the opportunity for Ivanka and Kushner to forgo paychecks while still serving the administration.
Kellyanne Conway, a top Trump adviser, said Thursday the law applies to Cabinet members, but there may be leeway when it comes to West Wing appointments.
"The anti-nepotism law has an exception if you want to work in the West Wing because the President is able to appoint his own staff. So, of course, this came about to stop maybe family members serving on the Cabinet," she said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."
"But the President does have discretion to choose a staff of his liking. And so if that is true, and that legal advice holds, that will open up a realm of responsibilities," she added.
Trump postponed a news conference previously expected on Thursday to answer questions about how he will avoid conflicts of interest as president. It's now expected sometime in January before his inauguration.
^^^ the press release will probably be RIGHT before his inauguration when it will be too late for Congress or anyone else to investigate it.

On the news they were talking about the new Trump hotel in D.C. Apparently the building is being leased from the government and there is a standard clause in the contract that no public official can be connected in any way to the lease. Will be interesting to see what happens after Jan 20th if the issue is not cleared up by then.

I'm thinking the Kardashians should be next to get offices in the White House. Why not?

I think deep down he is a very insecure man. that's why he needs to keep having those rallies and have his children around all the time. I also think the kids are there to figure out how they can further capitalize on his presidency.

I don't get it.
I don't get how this guy got to be so rich.
Of all the decent hard-working people in this country who struggle to feed their families, how does HE get to be a billionaire.
Don't get it.
