My vice was Vanilla Coke, I love that stuff. But as I of yesterday I have been soda free for 100 days! I feel great and have lost around 15 pounds. I still have days where I crave soda, but I have been able to resist and keep moving toward my goal. I would like to loose another 15 pounds or so, and that will put me at right around 140lb. But more important than the weight, I feel great, my BP has come down, and my cholesterol level that were border line are now normal again.

I know how hard it is but you're so much better off without all that sugar and chemicals Did you fully eliminate caffeine or just soda? I gave up Coke/caffeine a few years ago and it was a great decision. I feel better and also lost weight. Unfortunately I've gone off the wagon a little with the natural sodas (Virgil's) - still no caffeine but too much sugar. I need to get back to being soda free.

Did you fully eliminate caffeine or just soda? Yes, I gave up all caffeine. I don't drink coffee anyway. I do have a cup of tea occasionally, but I haven't had tea in over the 100 days either. I like sugar in my tea, not a lot, but I gave up sugar, so no tea for me for the moment. I drink mostly water....lots of water. Then with breakfast I might have a small glass of juice, that's it.

Good for you!
I tried giving up soda but didn't see a difference, so I went back to drinking it. Less than before but still drinking it. Not sure why I didn't see the results others did.
But congrats.

Great! Keep up the good work. I've often thought about trying. I love my coffee in the morn. I think what I like and crave most about soda is the carbonation.

Way to Go! I quit my Diet Code addiction on 7-11-11. I did a 100 day challenge and when that was up I decided I could give it up forever. Once at dinner I accidentally took a drink of my mom's diet coke - I couldn't believe how nasty it tasted!

Good for you! Sounds like you feel well and healthy. I gave up all carbonated drinks a few years ago. Now if I can kick my vitamin water habit and drink just water.

That's awesome!
I decided to go count how many days I've been Coke Classic free...115 days!! Wow, had no idea it had been since April the last time I drank Coke. Like you, nepean, I do get cravings for it but it's not too hard to resist it. I've lost weigh too but what I notice more is how flat my stomach is compared to what it was like when I drank Coke daily.

Good for you! I'm quite terribly addicted to my Diet Coke. 100 days? Amazing accomplishment.
