I would like to get a standing desk for where I spend eight hours each week day. Does anyone have one that they love? Please share what the brand is and where you purchased it.
I would like one that is able to be lowered for the times you would like to sit. My current desk has a hanging file drawer that I use throughout each and every day and of course other drawers. Some of the models I have looked at are simply an adjustable stand with a flat surface on top. I have seen other models the is placed on top of your existing desk that is adjustable to the preferred height.
I would really appreciate hearing what you like about it and if you were to purchase one today, what you would look for and what you would stay away from.
Thank you so very much!

I got mine from IKEA and to make it even better I got it from the return section. Everything works and I got a hefty discount. It's a small L shape but plenty of room for my 27 inch monitor and other things. I can fit a 2 drawer file system under it. It's super smooth up and down. It doesn't have any d3rawers etc attached to it, but there is enough room that my daily items are in reach anyway. I love it except when the cords slip from their little hammock and the animals run underneath and disconnect everything

At least it isn't a flaw of the desk you purchased! LOL! Thank you for sharing your experience! Nice score on the finding your desk in the return section!!

Would something like this work? I have the Pro Plus 36 at work and I really like it. It's very adjustable. I really want the varichair but it's a no go, darn it.

Our office bought us Vera Desks. Not sure where they bought them though. I love it. I can sit or stand and it is easy to lift up and down. My only complaint is I'm tall and it is just a bit short so sometimes my elbow hurts after 6 hours. I really enjoy being able to get up and move while I'm working. I even do a little step routine while standing.

I have never used one one, but I just saw a desk like this at my local Costco if you have one nearby. It looked like it sat on top of a regular desk, but I'm really not sure. I was just walking by so I don't know all the info on it, but thought I would mention it in case you are interested in checking it out.

Veridesk was going to be my suggestion. The executive director can't sit for long periods of time and that is what she has.

I have the IKEA one -- corner model. Love it. For the 3 years prior I was using my regular desk on an assortment of bed risers. The problem with this is to not get carpal tunnel symptoms you need to have your elbow at the proper angle. When the height is stationary whatever footwear you have on can make a big difference. I work at home so my footwear varies a lot throughout the year. I love having the motorized desk I can adjust for this. I have actually never put it in a sitting height ( if I need to sit I have a stool ). Plenty of space on the top for everything. My husband got the hand crank model for home (he has an expensive standing desk at his work) and he has been please with it. If you can, go to an IKEA and try them on! The assembly videos on youtube are essential for putting it together (but it's not difficult).

I don't have any recommendations but I will be keeping an eye on this thread. The IT department are trialling some at work and I am hoping that the company forks out for some. I am sick of sitting on my bum for 8 hours a day.
