Holy cow! I made it to the finish line. All the shopping, wrapping, cleaning, baking, cooking, entertaining...its just exhausting. And now I am sitting here enjoying my third glass of wine and Christmas cookies just thanking god tomorrow will just be peaceful. Kids had a wonderful Christmas! Wishing all of you a Merry Christmas!

Just getting ready to go pour my second glass of wine. I wrapped almost everything before we went to church. Then I finished up the last few things such as a Kohl's throw for everyone. Now I'm sitting here enjoying having my feet up.

I just love the holidays but it is a lot of work. It feels good to relax a little after the rush of it, doesn't it?

All the work and prep and it's over before you hardly blink an eye.
Hope your Christmas was happy to all those who already celebrated, and Merry Christmas to those who have yet to celebrate!

Merry Christmas all. It's just gone 9am here and I am taking my time getting out of bed! It's very rare I'm not up hours before so this is a treat before the family turns up later and the mayhem starts.
It's funny to think it's almost over for some and it's just getting going here!

5:47 am here and I just stuffed stockings and put the presents under the tree. Now I'm peaing with a cup of eggnog waiting for the rest of the family to wake up. We had fun last night so I'm sure everyone else is sleeping in. I love the peace and quiet with all the Christmas lights. Need this recharge before heading to the in-laws this afternoon.

It's almost 8 am here and we're still waiting on Christmas. My mama, my husband, and I are up drinking coffee debating about waking up our two youngest sons so we can get started! (We open everything on Christmas morning.)
We did out big meal last night and go to my in-laws for lunch today.
And we're doing Christmas all over again (to a lesser degree) next weekend when the two older sons can be here.

It is almost 8:30AM here and D/H is still sleeping. Monkey bread is baking, dogs are fed and they all went upstairs back to bed, they have no Chrismas spirit. Can't wait to open presents so after this cup of coffee is done I will wake up D/H and the dogs.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Holidays to all the Peas and their family's.

It's almost 9 am here. DS and his family are on a plane, should be here in 2 hours. We had 6 for dinner last night, so pretty low key.
My parents will join us later, so we'll have a full and crazy house. Perfect!

I had a wonderful Christmas Celebration with my son's family last night.
Every gift was a hit and even though we didn't co-ordinate gift lists, every gift was a hit.
Had a wonderful roast beef dinner, followed by my home-made eggnog and then opening the presents. A truly wonderful evening, visiting, playing with the grandkids and snacking.
I am alone today but am so grateful for my son & his family. The love and the non-stressed atmosphere was truly magical.
Wishing all the peas a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2017.

ItS the 26th here already, up late with DH playing the new Playstation we didn't really need...merry Christmas to him I guess, lol.
Another quiet holiday just us 4, no family for thousands of miles but kind of used to it now. I cooked nothing, we went out to eat chicken soup for Christmas Eve dinner. We did rouse ourselves lo g enough to walk the crazy dog but that was it, I never even showered. I must say I SO prefer these low stress, no travel, just us holidays to when we are in the US and have to pack, travel, drive, etc. Or host. No one comes to see us here...I can't say I mind.
Happy Holidays to every Pea everywhere! May it be a relaxing holiday for all.

We have our kids from when school lets out until Christmas Eve night. So all our holiday festivities are done in the week leading up to Christmas. By 9:00 on Christmas Eve kids are gone with their other parents and then we can relax. I love reading what you guys are up to...Christmas morning for me is coffee and crocheting...I am enjoying the peace...

Does this mean that you can go with your DH to his side of the family for their celebration? IIRC, you mentioned that your xh had said that he didn't/couldn't take the kids on Christmas Day. I hope that everything works out for you. Merry Christmas!

Honestly it's probably better I didn't because my dog had surgery and just isn't herself. I was really nervous about leaving her. My poor Dad was absolutely crushed that her dad couldn't spend Christmas with them. I even invited him to come to dinner on Christmas Eve at my house and he declined. She is going to go with her best friend today. And honestly I have a Facebook friend that suffered a lot of losses this year and was having a rough time this holiday. I invited her to stop by this evening and have a glass of wine with me.
