Never asked for one, never really wanted one. But dh was so proud. Eyes gleaming like he nailed the perfect gift. Of course I thanked him and smiled and casually asked "how did you get the idea for the hammock?". Grinning like a giant 2 year old toddler who colored a work of art he said "you had it in your Amazon cart". A few weeks ago, there was a thread about hammocks and I was reading it. KikiPea suggested one with a stand so I added it to my cart as a way to watch the price and think about it (nice for summer, but definitely not a want). We had been watching a movie on Amazon (my account) and later on he thought he was being slick by seeing what I had "wanted" in my cart. I have SO MUCH shit in my cart btw. So now I have a fancy hammock. And a glass lid for my instant pot. Thank God he didn't buy me the peach fuzz trimmer or probiotics.

Oh gosh, a hammock is wonderful!
My DD has a little portable hammock. The sling type, I forget the brand. She loves to head out to the natl park after classes or work and read and decompress! I got DH a stand hammock for Christmas a couple of years ago but he never really used it. I set it up this fall and used it quite a bit. Headphones, a breeze and good book. Ahhhhhhhhh......

That's so funny!
Last year, we went to Disney right before Thanksgiving. We were eating at Teppan Edo, the Japanese steakhouse at Epcot. I saw some people wearing those white, tall paper chef's hats and said "Oh, I want one of those". Well DH, bless his heart, thought I meant that I wanted a real one to cook in at home. So on Christmas morning, I open some presents and then open this white chef's hat. He's sitting there, so proud of himself and I'm so confused why he is giving me this hat. Finally he says "You know, like the one you wanted at the restaurant". I was laughing so hard I was crying and by the time I explained what had happened, he was too. 😂 We still laugh and joke about it.

I love that he was so proud of himself! Enjoy your hammock. Considering there is snow on the ground...might be May. But I could set it up in the living room, crank up the heat and have him get me margaritas?

I bought my husband a hammock similar to that a few years ago for Christmas. We had just purchased a little house on the lake. The stand assembles quickly and it's so comfortable. It is a great place for reading and napping. Seriously napping in a hammock in a shady place on a nice summer day is the best. A lot of people use it. Our neighbor's granddaughters are 7 & 9 now. We've seen them snuggled up in it many times the past few summers. It's sweet. You might decide later on that this was a really good gift.

That's funny! But he did get you something he thought you wanted. Be careful what you put in your cart from now on...LOL!

That's funny. My Prime is linked to our TV. I'd better go and check to see what DH can find out about me! LOL!
(BTW - I'm sure my DH would have got the peach fuzz trimmer)

Gotta give him points for noticing. I'd love a place to put a hammock. Our house has no trees. So not really a shady spot for one. DS wants an ENU but again, no where to hang it.

Hammocks are one of those things that you don't know you want until you have it. We got one for Easter last year and I spend a lot of time reading in it in the summer. Never would have thought to get one until DD mentioned that a friend had one that she liked.

We have a hammock. We also live in CA. LOL. It's used year round! I LOVE IT! My whole family piles into it and snuggles with blankets and we watch the stars. It's great!

I use it as much as I can during the Spring and Fall. If you keep it, hopefully, you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Ahhhh he tried! I hope you end up enjoying it.
One year I thought I would be clever, I got dh skis maintained. Blades sharpened and whatever else they do. He was less than impressed and in the 20 years since then, he never bothered to go skiing again.

Wonder how many of us are double-checking what we have in our cart and on our wish lists at Amazon?

That is sweet that he tried. When it gets warm, you'll have to tell us where you put it in your yard.

I love that he was so proud of himself and thinking he was being sneaky. Cracks me up! I would put that hammock in my yard and enjoy the hell out of it during the summer. It would turn into my new favorite place to read.

ahh love it! Love that he went to your cart for ideas! I can see why he'd be proud of himself!! My mom got DH a hammock for Dh for his birthday. It's great in the summer time by the pool. We want to take it camping! Enjoy your Dh's thoughtful gift now you can just tell him you need to relax in your hammock more!

Bless his heart for trying! Wonder how many of us are double-checking what we have in our cart and on our wish lists at Amazon? I made a point of telling my husband today that I put things in my cart to watch the prices. Of course, he'll forget in 8 minutes and think I said that I put things in my cart because their too pricey or something. LOL
