That would be better as a Mother's Day gift so you could use it shortly after in the summer. Odd to give something useless now. You should create an Amazon Universal wishlist, it's a public wishlist where you can add any product from any website to it.

Of course I thanked him and smiled and casually asked "how did you get the idea for the hammock?". Grinning like a giant 2 year old toddler who colored a work of art he said "you had it in your Amazon cart". I give him full marks for a great gift. Sorry it didn't work out the way you'd thought when you put it in your cart. I hope that it will bring a smile to your face every time you see it and that you will learn to love it.

I love that he was so proud of himself! Enjoy your hammock. Considering there is snow on the ground...might be May. But I could set it up in the living room, crank up the heat and have him get me margaritas? Oh, do it! And set up the camera so you can get a photo of the two of you. These are the unexpected moments that can be so wonderful.

LOL. DH did something similar last year. I throw ideas for gifts on my list, books I want to read, products the Peas recommend, etc. Last year I got a lot of random stuff. Books I'd already read, kitchen towels, a cow timer that I thought would be a good gag gift for my BFF. I asked DH how he came up with my items and he said off my Amazon cart. lol! I was careful to clean out my list this year and make a separate list just for him!

Bless his heart for trying! Wonder how many of us are double-checking what we have in our cart and on our wish lists at Amazon? I was just thinking I better purge my lists!

I'm not even sure what color I put in the cart and he doesn't know which one he bought. I'm going to wait until it warms up and surprise myself.

My DH does this and it drives me crazy. I put stuff in my cart just to watch or remind myself. Never fails DH will call at work and say "hey- that super random thing you had in the cart, I ordered it." I know it is a sweet thing but I've had to return a few things because I didn't actually want them.
DD wanted a hammock and grandpa sent 3... can't wait to use them!
