so we bought this 6000 sq foot behemoth! we are going to turn the diner/cafe thing into a pool room, family area kind of thing... my 2 adult sons will have an apt, my dh, 2 younger kids and i will have one, and my stepson will have the 3rd. it needs a lot lot lot of work! right now we are trying to get the plumbing re-hooked up, it was winterized... so we can have the water turned on this week. let me see if i can figure out how to post pics!

first project, ripping up the carpeting in our living room... 2 layers plus some really gross old foam padding.... painted wood, definitely not "refinish" worthy but will be repainted soon Attachments:

That's a heck of a project, but it should be awesome when you are done. I love those stools at the diner counter.

I hope that you have a lot of patience to complete this project. It will take a few years to complete.
Be sure to get multiple quotes & choose quality over convenience; reputable subcontractors over lower priced.
You do get what you pay for.
Good luck.

I love how all your family will be together but not together. You know what I mean?!?!?
I would love to renovate something like that! Too many years of watching HGTV and the DIY Network!
Keep the pictures coming, I would love to see the progress!

You've unleashed a monster by showing us photos! I foresee certain Peas will have an insatiable appetite for details - and I include myself in that.
