Have you started a blog? That would be an amazing thing to see. no, but i should! Absolutely you should! What a fabulous keepsake for all of you! When the project is completed you could actually have the blog printed up into a book.

what year was this built? I had the exact same moldings around my doors in my last house. Love it!

are you thinking of tearing off the white addition? no i don't think so... i'm thinking of plants out there... its super sturdy and well built and breaks up the red brick monolith style we have going on the addition on the back... we have tossed back and forth the idea of just tearing it down, but we need the space for 2 kitchens so its going to be gutted and rebuilt eventually

We had giant baseboards, too. You are doing a project that I would LOVE to do. Good luck. (and thanks for the blog!)

You might want to think about installing sound proofing between the floors so you don't hear your kids loud music. I know it's easy to do if you're changing out the drywall, but I don't know the procedure for floors. Since this is an old home, I think it would be a wise investment.

That is AWESOME. I would love a setup like that--all the chickies under one roof but still privacy and independence. What is the neighborhood like?

Exciting times. Hope the adult sons will be able to help with the money part of the project.
When it was a restaurant, what was going on in the white area?

This is so cool! How old is your stepson?
I think if more blended families could do something like this, more marriages would survive! Everyone has their own space. I love it!
