We are about to chime in a New Year...please take care of your pets, inside as well as outside...people celebrating will use fireworks/guns going off/hitting pots and pans will scare a lot of our pets...
Use care when opening the outside doors weather you have a party or your neighbors are that your pet does not dart out.
Be aware that some carry their parties before and maybe a couple days after ...keep them all safe and secured.
As for the Peas, have a safe drive out there and be aware of the other drivers drinking, don't want to hear we lost a Pea from a driver not being responsible for their own drinking...
So hoping we here at our home will be a healthier New Year then this one has been...
Happy New Year early Peas...stay safe keep the four legged kids safe...hugs

My dog's anxiety medicine is at the pharmacy, awaiting pickup. I feel so sorry for him...he just doesn't understand the loud noises in the sky, and it scares him senseless. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that medication works. 4th of July was BAD for the poor guy.

I have heard very good things about the Thundershirt. I have a dog breeder/competitor friend that has malamutes. One of her girls is very skittish due to various life events (dog attacks, car accident, etc). She tried the Thundershirt for fireworks and said it actually worked for her girl. I have heard others say it works and I know it wouldn't work for every dog, but it might be worth a try if you can find one at a pet store today

Tragedy just struck our extended family. A cousin lost her dog when fireworks close by scared it out of their electric fencing and she ran into the path of a train about a mile away from their home. Cousin said she figured they could let her outside during daylight and now they are all heartbroken.

Cousin said she figured they could let her outside during daylight and now they are all heartbroken. Oh my goodness, that is just terrible. I am SO sorry! And thanks for the reminder. I despise fireworks. The kind that leave the ground are illegal here but never stops anyone.
