If it's a celebrity whose work I enjoyed or died young or unexpectedly, I'll feel a pang of emotion. If I'm a fan or had been in the past I'll be profoundly sad. I've shed a few tears over some deaths but not full on water works. That just seems so ridiculous (if I were to do it) because it just doesn't seem right I should mourn someone so deeply who I didn't even know. BUT... I would never begrudge or judge someone who felt the need to express grief in whatever way necessary. I know of a few people who went into hysterics when John Lennon and Michael Jackson died.
I did shed some tears when I found out about Shirley Temple earlier this year and while watching a tribute to Robin Williams. Sometimes the emotions that hit me surprise me. I was so sad when Liberace died. I think I also cried when I found out about Davy Jones. Now I'm feeling so depressed. I need to watch a Robin Williams film.

No, the biggest reaction I've had is "Oh wow...how sad!" And then it might cross my mind a few times in the following week or so. I guess I've just had plenty of death and sadness in my life of people I've actually known and loved to be effected by a famous person that I have never met.

I don't think I have ever cried over a celebrity death. I have felt sorrow and sympathy. The deaths out of the blue from natural causes somehow are more of a shock than a suicide. I always thought that Robin Williams had a sadness and vulnerability about him, despite the laughter and zaniness. Tears of a clown and all that. Although very sad indeed, the manner of his passing was not a surprise to me.

OK my local station just showed various tributes to RW and I can say I did tear up. The anchors where also choked up. It is just so so sad. He was a brilliant genius.

Yes, but I cry. I cry over books, movies, commercials, YouTube videos, so it's not such a stretch. Not every celebrity but some I have, especially if their work has touched me. I'm a pretty empathetic and sensitive person, I used to be embarrassed by it but I don't think it's the worst trait one can have. Me too my family makes fun of me.

No, but Phil Hartman's murder had me in a bit of a fog for a while. For some reason Phil's murder put me in a funk for about a week. I still mourn the loss...such a funny man and gone 'cause of a crazed dope addict. I may have had a few tears that day, I can't remember. I do remember wondering why it was affecting me so much........

Robin Williams suicide has hit me hard. We have friends with mental illness , and it's such a sad loss.
I feel for those that have depression and other mental illnesses, like BiPolar Disorder. The suicide rate is high with these illnesses.

I think, "oh that's too bad" - like I would for anyone who died that I didn't personally know. It really doesn't affect me. I have definetly never cried or become upset.
