He brought the trash bag back in the house to 'prove' to me that he didn't throw them away and well what do you know, he found my flippin' pills. They are in a pill pack. You know the kind you peel back to take each pill? Would you take them? Did I mention I am so flippin ?

I would. I'd Ssanitize the outside of the pack so no cooties get on the pills when you pop them out.

Of course. They were sealed. As long as they were sealed, it doesn't matter if they were in a garbage can or in your medicine cabinet. They're still good.

Yeah, as long as they are all sealed up and were separated from the rest of the trash that way, I would rinse off the package and take them.

Are they in a bottle or blister pack? Then yes of course! I would get them and take them.

Yup, absolutely. Unless it was boiling hot, I'd absolutely do it. I agree with sanitizing the outside of the pack, though!

Were they mixed in with a lot of coupons and receipts? 0r were they found among the paper towels that you used to clean up the cat barf and dog pee? My answer would depend on the answers to these questions. 😂

Depends-was the paper side of the blister pack sitting in raw chicken juice?

Yes, as long as there is no clear evidence that the packet was wet anywhere close to where the pills were AND if the temperature outside overnight was not about 85 degrees.

Ewww you all make valid points regarding WHAT they were touching...AFTER I followed the faster responses to take them!! lol.
(D)h of course did not provide any information regarding the trash around my pills nor would he accept fault. Jerk!
However, the packet appeared dry. It was a cold almost slushy rain overnight, so good temps. We don't have a cat and the dog doesn't have accidents. Sooo the only concern would be were the pills near the ground beef package from tacos? But they appeared dry and I'm not dead yet so I think I'm good!
Thanks for your input!

How hot is it where you are? IF the pills were exposed to severe heat, they may have decomposed chemically, and could potentially be not just ineffective, but harmful. I would call the pharmacy!

I would if it was sealed air tight. I'm a germaphobe but crucial medication takes priority over irrational fears. I would wash or clean off the packet before cracking into it. I guess if it had cooties on it, the antibiotic could knock that out too, right? Lol

AND if the temperature outside overnight was not about 85 degrees. What happens to antibiotics at 85 degrees? Just curious. Higher temperatures can cause chemical reactions that start to break down the chemical structure of drugs. This is why it's HIGHLY suggested you don't keep medications in your warm steamy bathroom or your car in the summertime.

Your insurance company is not going to replace them; I sure would take them!
Signed, someone who once cooked her birth control pills and had to pay out of pocket to replace them...
