thanks-i thought you couldn't use coupons on the big shot. that always seems to be inthe fine print Okay so if i get the big shot, then i can right away cut the red dies. If i want tocut the wafer thin dies, then i should get the magnetic platform and the metal shim--is that correct? thank you so much. You can cut the wafer thin dies without those accessories, sometimes with cs shims, etc, but those 2 accessories would be MY first add-ons. I use them both all the time with the Vagabond (the electronic form of the Big Shot). Just have to remember that when I am using the machine to emboss, I need to change out the magnetic platform and put in the original one, and then just use the two clear plates without the shim.

At this point I would be happy just to finish the one layout that I started at the end of last year. We have just been so busy and I injured myself falling off the bottom of the stairs going into my scrapbooking room and all my free days before I went back to work were spent upstairs with legs up and ice packs. The kids are on there school holidays here and we are just really busy until they go back, so some free time to just focus on a layout would be wonderful. Hope you feel better soon, and get some time to play with paper. Nobody likes a scrapbooking injury! Ouch!

I ended up with a sprained left foot, dislocated right knee and bruises and scrapes all up my left leg and arm, all on new years eve too and with not a single drink in sight. I am almost all back to normal though but I had to go back to work fairly soon after and standing for hours and walking up and down stairs probably has slowed the healing time.

Thanks Ellsabelle and Grammadee for the well wishes. I hate being out of action so that part has actually been the worst bit ohhh and the time it takes to hobble up and down stairs, frustrating but I am managing much much better now.

I haven't done any scrapping in about a week. I got started on my Disney journaling today, though, and got quite a bit typed up. Every now and then I need to Google the name of this or that and I'm trying not to fall down the Disney rabbit hole. One search of Disneyland fireworks and then I'm going from site to site trying to find out if there will be a fireworks show in April. Stay focused, woman!

Today DD19 and I sorted the pictures from her first semester at college. It was a much bigger job than she realized...lol. We found a missing timeframe and quickly ordered those pictures. Hopefully we'll have the chance to load them in an album tomorrow.
Too much going on here to expect to scrapbook soon, but I love that I've gotten to spend so much time with my kiddos lately. DD17 will get dropped off at DS29's apartment and he will get dropped off at the airport tomorrow. DD19 will go back to school Monday. The house won't be the same, but I'll get to scrapbook again!

How exciting! When you finish an album do you flip through it over and over again like I do? DS29 is out in LA and is most likely going to Disneyland (and in Tokyo, too). I am giddy to get his pictures and scrapbook them. I have 2014 Disneyworld albums to work on, but his trip is much more exciting to me at the moment.

Here is our thread for sharing our scrappy goals and progress. Do you have monthly scrap goals and yearly scrap goals? Is there anything new you'd like to try? Anything you'd like to do differently? For those that want to track how many layouts you've done, an easy way to do it is in your siggy. I haven't done that since two peas but I will get back to it when I finish my Disney album. And my goal for the month is to finish that album. How exciting that you finished your Disney album!!!!!! Ok! I'm checking in on the thread! I scrapped 4 hours last night and after about 4 more hours today I FINISHED my three 8.5x11 California years albums! Final count for all 3 was 208 pages - I started I think in August because that is when I stopped scrapping my current photos. I was so ready to be done with that project! Now I do have to go and put labels on the spine and also on 2 pages I need to add who is in the photos because I didn't have it handy when I did the pages. After I finished the last one I started scrapping my son's recent college graduation. I got about 11 pages done. Here are 2 of them. I have to cut down 12x12 to make 8.5x11 pages.

myboysnme I'm so impressed with how much you've accomplished. Such treasures! Thanks for sharing your layouts with us. They're great layouts! I didn't do any scrapping today like I'd hoped, but I did make some treats for some friends. I made brownies, ginger cookies, and macaroons. I'm just about to dip some of the macaroons in chocolate and then divide and package everything. I shouldn't have sat down. I don't want to finish up now.

Simple but pleasing to me layouts like I can do now are why I redo without a second thought! Poor quality as usual because my phone is so crappy with pics, but here are a few layouts from the Calif albums - just a sample. Get a laugh at some of the old stash I used!

Congrats, myboysnme on completing all those projects! I am starting my annual project of creating a page for each month in next year's family calendar. I do a December page from the last Christmas, and then I tend to do one each month until November, when I print a copy for each of my kids' families. I am psyched up today with lots of new photos to play with and some new product I picked up yesterday. Here is my January page using some of the Carta Bella "Snow Fun" collection my LSS lady had set aside for me. January '18 page by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Next up will be my December page.

Great start, mamakoala! Here is my December page: december '18 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr My Christmas papers and extras are all over my scraproom, and when I printed photos yesterday, I knew which ones I would use for the calendar pages, so had those printed 5x7. These two pages were a quick dive into all the Christmas and winter goodness in photos and supplies. Loving it!

I can't believe the coincidence that you used that paper!! I have a similar piece same line of the city with skaters and it is going to be perfect for a few NY City photos! I knew I had it from years ago and thankfully it was actually stored in a bin labelled 'winter.'

I remember having only a few sheets of that line from a kit, and I had a hard time using it because I liked it so much and kept thinking there was always going to be a better project for it. Mine is the new Carta Bella, but it is designed by the same guy!

Fabulous layouts grammadee and myboysnme. While I'm not excited for DD19 to leave tomorrow to go back to school, I am excited to have the house alone for a week! DH will be here in the evenings, though. DD17 is in the city staying at DS29's apartment until he gets home. He went to Disneyland yesterday, so I'll get to scrapbook those pictures...yay! While I haven't scrapbooked lately, we got DD19's first month of her freshman year put in an album...an entire album! It really documents how much her life changed, so if it takes a whole album, so be it. I think the rest of that semester will fit in the next album. I'm wondering how many volumes her eight years will require...oh, my! I'm sure we'll document less of the everyday and more of the friendships, etc. I'm just excited that she wants to document it all!
