Yes, I am surprised about Seattle as well. It was small this year, while Portland seemed larger, so I wondered if they were just going to do Portland.

I've always heard such good things about the Portland show. Plus it's at the beginning of the show cycle where Seattle seems to get all the "leftovers" at the end of the show year. That's my opinion anyway.

I was so looking forward to the Charlotte convention. None of the others are as close.

Do they ever run these events outside the US? I've never seen or heard of it happening but I'm curious, because I'd love to go...

Yeah for Houston!!!! I just hope they have a better selection of classes. The shopping was really good for me since I hadn't been to a convention in years.

I've gone to the San Marcos (Austin) location a few years in a row and the class selection has been pretty poor but I hope with them adding Houston back to the mix there might be more classes added as well.
We'll see. I'll keep my eyes peeled for when the class schedule comes out and make my decision then if I'm going or not.

We just signed up for Arlington today. We've gone to CKC in Houston since 2011, and been to San Marcos for two years now as well. Trying Arlington out since they cancelled San Marcos out. Keeping our fingers crossed as we're taking four classes, three with vendors/teachers we haven't been with before.

There hasn't been one anywhere near me in years I do drive about 4 hours to go to the scrapbook expo once a year...although it has really dwindled...

I'm going to CKC in Houston at the end of August. Back in the day I never had a chance to go to any of the big scrapbook conventions and expos, but always wanted to. This year I had some extra money from the tax refund and decided to make it happen. I booked a room at the convention hotel, and signed up for a bunch of classes and the Saturday night crop. So I finally get to have the full convention experience. I'm kinda sad that I didn't get to do it when scrapbooking was a big thing and the convention was much larger. But very happy to be able to finally go and do it this year.

I'm not surprised that they aren't coming to the Midwest because we have other shows. Megameet is in Michigan in May and is a really nice event - pretty large. There is also the scrapbook expo in Chicago in August. I haven't been to that in several years but I can tell you that Megameet is very similar to a CKC. In fact the last CKC I went to in Cincinnati was pretty lame. Don't forget the Scrapbook Expo in Milwaukee in April, too. I live outside Chicago but actually attended the Milwaukee Expo for several years because the timing (April vs. August) worked out better for me. It didn't take me much longer to get to Milwaukee than it did to get to St. Charles (where the Chgo Expo was held for many years) and the drive was MUCH easier. (Highway all the way vs. stop-and-go city driving) This year the Chicago Expo in August moved to Schaumburg, which is AWESOME. I'm already registered!
