If I could whisper in the ear of companies, I would tell them I want sentiments for single parents.
Do you have any idea how many PL/MME baby cards I can't use?
"Our little guy"
"Our greatest adventure" (it was a baby boy card, not travel-ish at all)
"You bring us joy" (admittedly, I could use this on a grandparent layout, so all was not lost.)
"Our son"
"Our Daughter"
You get the point.
How about:
"My son/daughter"
"My little guy"
"You bring me joy"
"My greatest adventure"
I mean, single parent households happen. A lot, now a days.
I just think it's a market they are missing.
What would you want the companies to hear?

Some of us DISLIKE pink! Some of us do not need "best day ever " as a phrase in every set of cards we get Some of us don't need to have the words " dream" or " believe " in every set either Please put more vowels and R S N T in letters sticker sets Please stop using rabbits and foxes...they are destructive vermin where I live and NOT at all cute

less pink
girl sentiments/images in primary/secondary colours - not all girls are into pink/purple
baby/toddler stuff that isn't all pale blue/pale pink....babies wear lots of colours
stuff for springs and waterfalls and trails and lakes and ponds...not just beaches and skiing...there's a lot of nature in the middle

I have such an incredibly huge stash that if I can't find it or adapt something then there is something wrong.
However I am a consumer of any product, especially theme product, I think I can use so here is what I am likely to buy:
College/University Most school paper stops at Senior High School. How about Bachelors Degree, etc. The little bit that is out there usually has a few dorm life stickers. My kids are not in the dorm. I do adapt anything school that I can, but I've been nursing along 2 sheets of paper that actually say university through 2 kids in college and my own college. Working on my Degree, Doctorate, So many classes, so little time, I live at the library, .....
Work Life - Yes, there have been a few things like this but it's been a long time since work related stuff has been out. Of course I used telephones and typewriters -I happen to have that kind of job. But Working for the Weekend, Finally a Day Off, Love the Paycheck, Job Satisfaction, I need a Career, My Career, My Job, Working Hard, Working for Tips, Up at Dawn, Working Late, Shift Work, Overtime, Good Thing I'm People Person, Hitting the Pavement, that kind of stuff.
Teacher - often a school line throws in the word teacher here and there, but I've been using the same Teacher paper for every layout for several years because I hoarded it. My DH is a teacher and my DS is a sub. Teacher can be used for those in school as well as those who do the teaching at every level. How about Teaching is hard work, Waiting for a snow day, Love to Teach, Sunday School Teacher, Preschool Teacher, Professor, I'm in Charge, Detention, Lunch Room Duty, Planning Period, even something for the other people at school - PTA, Classroom Parent, Guidance, Principal, Dean, I mean every school has these but is there a product? Nope.
Along with Teacher how about Day Care or babysitter. Many kids including mine went to Day Care and had many babysitters. I've seen a few stickers here and there, but this is a niche area because if you use it you probably get pictures from time to time. Some of the above can be used here but Plays Well with others, I'd rather be home with Mom, Making new friends, So much to learn, Love to Play, My Babysitter loves me, ...
Now I'm not saying they need a whole line of product, but gear the cards and sayings so they can be used for things like this.

Another vote here for less pink. And I would also say, less gold. (Please don't throw tomatoes.)

They could lose the word Hello - it's repeated in so many collections and I don't need to see another hot air balloon.

I have a mountain of paper so I really don't go "begging" -- but I don't buy paper with birds or bugs or critters or anything with "big eyes". I don't really buy much that is specifically themed -- eg: travel yes, Eiffel Tower, no. And -- yes -- less pink. I'd like some more purple, some choices and ranges in oranges.
We aren't a "joyful" family -- we are a dry witted snarky sort of family -- which doesn't mean that we aren't nice, just that we are a bit more sarcastic, more ironic, sassier about most everything. So -- more ... snark!
But -- frankly, I can create words and embellishments on my computer and silhouette -- so if the companies don't bother, I'm still good without them!

Less pink (and I have girls) and a lot more purple.
I would like a birthday line with phrases that says "my birthday" on it, instead of "your birthday" so I can make birthday layouts about myself...
More school lines, please! Generic ones without lockers and apples would be nice but definitely more school lines. They are few and far between and school happens 180 days a year...
Anything geeky, science related (Star Trek, Star Wars, Lego, Mythbusters, science anything) would be awesome.

For PL cards in particular, more interesting formatting, icons, etc, and fewer words. If you use words, put them at the top or bottom of the card, not in the middle--I am not going to waste an entire slot in my album on a card that says "adventure" in big letters covering the useful real estate on the card. Put that in smaller font at the top or bottom? Then I at least have the option of adding a photo or journaling on that theme.
For patterned papers, I would really like more blues. Not Aqua (which I like too but is everywhere), but actual blues. And more neutrals. I get so much mileage out of gray, cream, tan, etc.--I can mix them in with more colorful papers, or use them on their own.
Work themed items that don't make me sound like a 22-year-old on my first job.

More school lines, and the college/university angle would be an awesome addition.
More sports phrases that could be used to cheer on any sport. I don't want to buy a whole football sheet of stickers to get a "Way to Go!" or "Run!" "Great Team work!" or some of the encouraging quotes about working hard and focusing on having fun rather than being the star and winning KWIM?
A STAYCATION line: just relaxing in the back yard, reading, barbecue on the deck...
And I have mentioned this before, but all the people on the papers and stamps and diecuts need an upgrade to how people look today. Little girls do not look like Sally from Dick & Jane. Grampas don't smoke pipes. Grammas and moms wear jeans and sweats, not house dresses.
Maybe some icons of scrapbook tools other than scissors?

Oh I just remembered when grammadee mentioned sports. Please stop overusing the terms, Goal, Touchdown, Home Run, etc. That's wonderful to include once, but my child played baseball for more than a decade and I took thousands of photos. Do you know how many times he hit a home run? Well suffice to say I have about 100 more Home Run stickers and paper than I needed. He scored two touchdowns in football - did I get photo? Nope. That still upsets me. Now I did cut the word home off and used Run where ever possible. Remember those word rub on that said things like Agony of Defeat? I used that several times. I know people use the sports papers/etc for professional teams, but I made at least 5 large sports albums and used every available product. As for travel, I love themes, but when I did my France album do you know how many papers had the Eiffel Tower? There is more to France than that. I had maybe one sticker of those adorable thatched Shakespeare looking cottages when I was doing England, but 5 Gazillion papers/stickers of Big Ben. Mfgs do make what they think or know will sell, but when I see something off the grid, I snap it up!

I got two giftcards to the same craft store for Christmas. I stopped by the other day and ha a hard time finding something to buy- everything has so much pink in it! I have two girls, but they are adults now and pink doesn't work for either of them. Hopefully there will be a better selection after CHA.

Another vote here for no more pink, no more "Best Day Ever", or Dream or Believe. How many best days ever can one person have, anyway? Things that are less specific work so much better for me. If there has to be a sentiment on the card or paper, could it just say "Awesome" or "Fun" or something like that? I also want to see more neutral and bright color schemes, but realize we're all very color-specific. I'm just ready to see new color combinations (without pink )

Haven't read through it all yet, but I agree with you LavenderLayoutLady . While I am married, I don't particularly care to always assume my husband's feelings. He doesn't scrapbook, things are from MY perspective and I like the idea of more possessive pronouns (goodness, I'm so bad with English terminology that I had to look up the name to make sure I listed the right type of pronoun, lol). Sometimes my greatest joy is just my stash and my husband couldn't give a rat's ass about that.

No pink. It chaps my hide. I have hated it since I was little and was dressed in it frequently. My sentiments that I frequently use probably should not be made into stamps. We've had 80 mph winds today and our neighborhood is trashed. Giant trees uprooted and fences are more down than up. The words I used when my neighbor's 50 foot pine came down across the driveway were not stamp appropriate. (My car door that was slightly removed from its hinges is being fixed tomorrow.) I get that you can't please everyone, but it seems when there is a fad, every company jumps on it and the variety is lacking. I am already done with the watercolor look that seems to be permeating the shelves. scrapaddict702 rat's ass is one of my favorite sayings. Maybe just putting that in stamp form without words would be nice.

the people on the papers and stamps and diecuts need an upgrade to how people look today I agree, my mom and dad don't look like old fashioned grandparents. Also every baby line or diecut image I find seems to have a baby buggy, how about some strollers which more people use today.

These are all great suggestions. I would add more/anything for annual or common school events such as Field Day, Picture Day, 100th Day of School, Field Trip, Walk-a-thon type events (ours is now renamed Move & Groove), Back to School Night, fundraiser event night for the parents/adults, Dr. Seuss week, Book Fair, Star of the Week, STEM/STEAM Night, those kinds of things.
I personally want school stuff that ISN'T primary colors. My kid never wears red, orange, golden yellow, grass green, royal blue. As in, not ever. And most of her friends don't either. So all of my photos of kids at school events totally don't go with any of the school papers or embellishments I usually see. I think the people who design products for elementary aged kids need to take a trip through the kid's departments at any department store today to get a clue what colors these kids are actually wearing, especially the girls.

Especially since it's such a big deal to make "life books" for adoptive kids and many agencies have you make a scrapbook about your family that can be shown to prospective birth parents. In fact, that's what got me into scrapping in the first place! This is really kind of a niche in the market, but if anybody has an Etsy store, you need to get on this. People would totally buy it!

More variety in nature and camping lines. It seems that designers use the most cliche version of whatever subject they choose. Maybe if the just take it down a notch for a true representation, rather than the OMG Epic version. I think that is what has made the kit clubs popular. The lines are more understated, yet still pretty and interesting.

When my brother and sister in law adopted their first- I helped them create a beautiful "life book" for birth parents. The birth mom of my nephew said she was drawn to them because of how the book looked. It was pretty with butterflies. I've always treasured that memory. There would definitely be a market for adoption supplies/life books.

Less pink -for the love of all things good less pink! Stop with ______ EVER! How many Best Day Evers can one have? Best Day/Worst Day cards would be great. More "real life" cards - not every day is shiny/happy/awesome. Did I mention less pink? No.more.ampersands. I never know what to use these for.

How many do I really need? Honestly! It seems like they're huge too. Why do I need a two - three inch ampersand? Why?! I have so many cards and embellishments that I'll likely never use. It drives me nuts. Nuts I tell you! I'm going to go have a cup of tea and calm down now before I have to go in and teach on our snow delay. Deep breaths...

Sometimes I think scrapbook manufacturers must be the laziest and least imaginative people on the planet. Talk about a bubble. Grampas? They look like Burl Ives and smoke pipes. Cars? They are all VW bugs or vans. Babies? Always born vaginally to a two-parent two-gendered family. I realize they have to go after their big markets? But surely there's a bigger market in Subarus than VW bugs? Surely there are more w/it grampas who no longer sit w/the paper smoking pipes but maybe run or hike or volunteer? Surely there is a HUGE market for babies who were born via caesarean or IVF or adopted?
