Grrrrr, before you ask me a question, do a little research! You have access to the same resources I do. Sometimes I feel like I am supposed to be a walking encyclopedia for my coworkers!

Oh, the memories that brings back!! I seemed to be the magnet for questions that shouldn't be asked of me - I used to do what my old boss did to me...made it clear that you'd better come to me and TELL me where you'd already looked BEFORE coming to me. Obviously doesn't always work when it's 'up aboves' doing the asking, but certainly cut down on the crap I had to deal with from those around me and, shockingly, some of them actually learned to be somewhat self sufficient! OTOH, it's kind of human nature to take the quickest route- I've caught myself asking questions and realising that i could have found out myself by being a little less damn lazy!

Okay winter... so you're making up for the last two mild winters we've had but enough already. So done with the wind and ice!

I am that person for my family. Drives me nuts.
My vent is that I have a cold. I have the annual awards breakfast for the brokerage tomorrow and I've been looking forward to it all year. Visualizing walking up to get my sales award was a big motivator for me last year. Now I'm sick and it sucks. I'll probably still go, but I had better not get sicker. At least we're carpooling to the breakfast so I don't have to drive on cold medication.
Also, I have a big license test to take on Thursday. I have spent four months doing the online classroom work and studying to pass this exam so I could be licensed in the neighboring state. I have to drive over an hour on a stretch of freeway that closes if someone sneezes too hard with two snow storms expected between now and then. And I'm sick so my brain isn't working at 100% so my studying isn't as effective as it should be. grrrr.
And there was an ice storm yesterday and the van is stuck.

Oh I needed this today. In the worst way. I just accepted a job Friday, one that I've been after for about 2 years now. I called my soon to be training coordinator to inform her that I am 30 weeks pregnant. The conversation didn't go well. Why did the universe have to time everything so poorly? Thanks for letting me get that off my chest, feeling like doo-doo right now!

I have a lot to get done today and got about half. My stomach sometimes plays nice sometimes not so much..totally unpredictable! It's not been the same since my surgeries. Been seeing somebody for while. Muscle relaxers seem to be my friend. But then I just crash so it's frustrating.

The home health agency caring for my dad should be calling me, not him and my mother. Who calls elderly people after 8 p.m and expects them to hear what is said on the phone and get the times for upcoming appointments correct?

Hope everyone who is fighting a cold, wins the fight! I have a persistent cough that is driving my coworkers crazy (but when they all coughed through November and December, I didn't complain). scrappyoutlaw, I didn't see vent thread so I had to start one, lol. lisae, even though you probably arranged (and may even be paying for) the home health agency, is the contract actually with your dad? I only ask because I had to make some legal arrangements for my dad and the lawyer made sure that I understood that all communication would have to be via my dad because I wasn't the client, my dad was.

We have winds surpassing 100 mph here. Trees are toppling, fences are flying, and my car door will need to be repaired tomorrow. My neighbor's tree is crushing my fence and is partly on my deck. The neighbor across from us had their 50 foot pine tree snap. Crazy.

My mom's here visiting for the first time in three years. She wanted to come here versus me going there because she is blind and rarely gets out of the house. We've been iced in for four days. It is supposed to melt the day before she leaves. 😟

If school is cancelled again tomorrow, someone may die.
I just got word I didn't get the job I wanted. They will call me back if the person they did hire doesn't work out. But how often does that happen? There are just so few job opportunities in my small, rural area.
We had snow, then it rained, now we have slush. Yuck.

Really after 6 months of no period you had to make a bloody appearance WTF!
It's like something out of a crime scene in a gangster movie ugh I'm so over being a female.
Having the period from hell apparently isn't bad enough I mistakenly drank out of my kids glass yesterday and caught his bug!
I've been achy and cold all day and I have a headache so bad nothing seems to make it go away.
Seriously just take me out to the back 40 and shoot me please!

Add me to the "have a cold club". I only get sick about once every 3 years or so, but when I do, it takes me awhile to get over it. So yes co-workers, I AM still sick. It hasn't even been a week. I'm sorry if my cold makes me unable to properly appreciate your new injury.
I made a new rule at work today. All you sick people who keep coming into MY work area to blow your noses, that's over. Go blow your darn noses in the bathroom, you freaks.

I have no school age children children at home.
But they keep closing the area where my husband works. I may end up going nuts with all the togetherness.
And my son works at a grocery store. They all have to report to work so all the people who have work off today can wander around the store.

I have a horrible bladder infection that triggered a lupus flare, so I am now miserable times a million. My husband wants me to call in sick but it is more work to write sub plans than I can handle. Besides, there are hardly any subs who will pick up my job---special education teacher, so my kids end up getting sent back to their regular classrooms where their teachers will stick them on the computer or Ipad all day! That's a whole 'nother vent.

I feel like that all the time. From how to spell words to how to do things on the computer (I'll never forget teaching a coworker what a right click was and how to do it) to work specific knowledge and tasks. It gets so old.

There are a couple good ones, but others literally sit in the back and read or sleep. My kids don't have time to get behind and I expect my subs to instruct and follow lesson plans, not babysit.

No matter what I say, DD21 gets upset with me. If I don't accept her BF, she gets pissed. If I do she gets pissed. WTH. She has been with her BF since March. They have dinner with us every Sunday, sometimes more. She is planning on traveling to Italy with him this summer. She mentioned a ring may be in the future. (Thinking Italy trip). BF started a new job today. I sent a quick text saying that I hoped he had a great day and even better week. Signed with my name. She was posted. Why??? I asked permission. She had to give me his number, I didn't have it. All she had to do was say no, or not give me his number. He sent a thank you back, I didn't respond.

None of the snow has been good timing for a snow day or delay. I'm hoping the wintery mix comes about 5:00. I'm still bitter about our shorter Christmas break this year. I'd like some snow days so I can get caught up on work and get more rest.

I am cold right now. I could be warm again in an hour. I will be cold again soon. I guarantee I will wake up HOT. I am looking for the advantages of being middle aged and coming up with none.
I do 100% of our laundry. I should get some input on the drier I want. I am happy you just bought a TV. The drier is 100% more important to our family than a new TV was.

It's common courtesy when said coworker writes down the step how to do something so he/she doesn't need to ask the steps again. And again.

Dear friend: please do not give me grief over making DDs (9) lunch when you make ans pack a lunch for your DH every day including homemade cookies. GAH!
DD likes boiled shredded chicken and friend thinks that's too much work.
