That's why I asked. I watched live and never heard that. I watched live and have been scrambling because I didn't hear it. Disappointed in my favorite outlet, NPR. Some interns head will probably roll. He did look more serious than usual. Maybe the enormity of POTUS has finally hit him. It makes me wonder if there's enough truth in the reports that it scared him. |

They are on FB. There are a few folks I know who are YUGE supports and they LOOOOOOOOOVE this. "HE put CNN in their place" "Watch them bow down on their knee to him now" "They will change their ways or he will run them out of business in 12 months". I was in a classroom and unable to watch this. The supporters I see on FB claim "ALL other media applauded" when he denied CNN reporter a question. True? Or Nah? You can watch the exchange for yourself - I posted a link the exchange above. There was definite applause after Trump stated, "you are fake news" and gave the other reporter a chance to ask a question. There's no way to claim ALL - unless someone has a different angle that is showing the reporters instead of Trump. Not sure any media actually applauded. I thought it was his advisors team and support team who did. |

As a teacher, I am REALLY going to miss a president who uses good and proper English! At least good sentence structure!!! I am not a teacher, but I completely agree with you!! Watching Obama speak last night had me in tears because I knew that would be the last time in 4 years that I would be able to hear our nation's leader speak to us using proper English. |

The woman that spoke today from this company also said Trump was going to appoint an ethics person to oversee that everything was being done correctly during his Presidency to comply with separation of his business and the office of President......who appoint their own ethics person for goodness sake!!! |

Watching Obama speak last night had me in tears because I knew that would be the last time in 4 years that I would be able to hear our nation's leader speak to us using proper English. If I hear him saying the word "gonna" one more time I'll be screaming. |

I honestly cannot even begin to imagine him meeting any heads of State. The more I watch of the confirmation hearings and the more I see from Trump himself, I feel more and more depressed.

They showed the room several times. I did not see any media applauding, only the first two rows from behind and people standing along the side with the kids. |

As someone on the outside looking in , he comes across as so undignified - after Obama's class, you now have crass . I thought our Boris Johnson was a bumbling fool, but Trump makes him look great!
I find it so unprofessional that he makes such personal statements - he just doesnt sound how I would expect someone in such a very senior and powerful position to speak. He looks awful at the moment as well. It's going to be a very long 4 years!

I'm 99% sure the only applause was from his staff not reporters. NPR made a mistake but it does sound like they fixed it pretty fast. So in my opinion it falls under mistake versus any kind of fake news. I felt deeply embarrassed and sad for our country today. It could be that they use voice recognition software to get the transcript up quickly, then go back in to edit. You know like what when you are watching Closed Caption TV and the words on the screen are jumbled or typed out as a similar sounding word? |

NPR has the transcript of the press conference and nowhere in the transcript is there anything about Trump skipping a question from a reporter who is Arab.
