I was shopping at Target yesterday, and picked up this tank top in "shell". I popped the tag off, and went to wear it today, and it is completely gaping open on the sides. If you look closely at the photo of the pink version, you can see how low it is cut on the sides and where it shows side-boob. I must be getting old because I have no idea how to wear this without physically altering it. Ideas? Should I just return it?

I would probably wear it with some type of tube top....if I wasn't 66!

Have you tried wearing a cami under it?

Bandeau!
Eta but that can go bad awful fast, unless you're 14.

Sort of like men's 'wife beater' shirts, a term I hate anyway. I'd return it.

Yeah, like Joy said, a tube top if you're into them, or maybe one of those camisole-type tank tops with the skinny straps.

I would return it, or just wear it with a cami.

It would make a cute night shirt!

I have that problem with a lot of clothes...it is a function of me being short and almost everything not labeled "petite" is proportioned to fit a much taller person. Arm holes are more often than not too low cut-and they are very hard to alter.

I'd just return it, it seems like poor design

Okay, I'm glad it's not me being out-of-touch with fashion or something. I bought it because it looked like a nice, loose shirt for summer, so wearing a cami under it would pretty much defeat the purpose. I guess I'll return it. Bummer, because it's cute otherwise!

My dd (14) has a few tanks cut like that. She wears a bandeau under them.

It's cute. With that said, I would probably return it. I'm not much for layering stuff in the middle of summer.

I'd return it. I probably layer 95% of my tanks in Summer because some have low-cut backs, gaping arm holes, etc. but I would not put a cami under this one because you will see the straps under the decorative neckline and it seems like it would take away from that. I think it's a poor design. (Really pretty on the website model as-is but not with biiiiiig armholes as you are describing).

I'd wear a cute sports bra under it. That seems to be the current style.

If I wore that it would not be a pretty sight!

I wear a lot of "flowy" type shirts with cami's or tanks under them in the Summer. I like the layering. That's what I'd do here. I'm usually trying to cover up "top" boob and/or side boob. I've got it all. :-P

I could never wear that. Perhaps it's supposed to be sleepwear?

Is there such a thing? (maybe for the less endowed. I've never seen a "cute" sports bra in a DD+ size.)

That is a cute top. I wish I could wear things like that. I have too much side boob according to my kids.

Yeah, the bandeau under these types of tanks is trendy now. I think it only works if you're a teenager. Sorry!

My 13 year old loves the bandeau-under-tank look. I think it's cute on a 13 year old but not on a grownup. Usually. I'm sure there are exceptions.

That's a pretty shirt. It's too bad that the arm holes are cut so large. I'd return it.
