From what I understand, Lawn Fawn, Hero Arts, Gina K and one other (maybe my favorite things?) are made by the same company. I thought it was SSS, not MFT. But I could be wrong. I think you're right.

Does anyone have the Fun Stampers Journey inks that they could test for water-resistance? These are a hybrid ink so I'm hoping that they might be water-resistant.

Probably no surprise that the one with the least waterfastness is the one that stamps and probably blends the easiest. In my limited testing, I have found that purples tend to be the least waterfast, regardless of the brand. I need to test this hypothesis further. I just got Stampin Up Blackberry Bliss and it smears a lot even after one week of drying. It is much more smeared than your Stampin Up sample. I didn't read all the comments so someone may have already responded re: your Blackberry Bliss ink. I'm not sure what cardstock you're using but I primarily use SU's Whisper White. The ink did take a little longer to dry than others because how pigmented the ink is. I'd suggest using a lighter touch when inking your stamp and see if this makes a difference. Also, you can use a heat tool, if you have one. This helps speed up ink drying. Hope this helps.

My feeling is that regardless of how heavily I inked the stamp, any ink that doesn't dry in a week is going to be a problem for me. I used Papertrey Ink paper. It's what I almost always use.

Someone just messaged me on FB offering to sell me this brand. I might give it a try. To be honest I feel like a lot of people who "love" any MLM brand ink might be a big fan of that company in general and not as objective. I am a SU demo but I honestly like other inks better. I just haven't found my perfect ink yet. I wish Ranger had more colors in the dye ink line.

I am a big fan of lawn fawn. I am currently loving their jet black for all my basic stamping and for copics

I second the Ranger Archival inks. I like the TH distress inks for blending or watercolor techniques, but for just plain stamping, or stamping something that might get damp when I do something else, I love the Archivals. I got rid of all my other stamp pads and have simplified to those two.
I used a Lawn Fawn black pad a while back, and I accidentally got a little on my desk. When I went to wipe it up, it turned bright grass green and stained my wood. That was a lot of reaction, so I've stuck to Ranger inks.

I hate in using inks where I struggle opening them. I.e. CTMH and stampin up. I have ink all over the place. I like the ink but it's like Fort Knox getting to them.

I have problems opening MFT dye inks. The sides are all smooth-no little edges to grab.

I got a few less expensive inks today at michael by hero arts (dye based) and the images are not that sharp. I remember using (I think) Stazon years ago, but not sure tht's the best choice for card making. What;s your favorite ink for stamping? Going back to joanns tomorrow to buy. Thank you!!!! I think I've used every ink out there and finally decided my favorites are MFT and Lawn Fawn. I have nearly all of the MFT dye inks in the cubes but I want the LF full size pads so am working on getting them all. I do have Memento Black and of course Stazon and Versamark, other than those I use the distress inks. Really love Lawn Fawn the most though!

In the minority here but I like WPlus9 inks. The packaging is the same as HA. I like that they have reinkers. They don’t come in cubes. I use them along with my other favorite Hero Arts. I have all the Papertrey inks, some are good for me and some not. I’m starting to buy sets of the Altenew cubes, so far, so good. I am less on a quest to find the best ink coverage now that I have a stamp positioner. The new Versafine Clair inks are really good for sentiments and the color range is good if you like intense colors. Very crisp and great coverage just like Versafine.

I recently bought some Gina K ink cubes and I really like them. I'll be buying more when she has a sale.

I noticed that Gina K also has cubes and refills. Are her ink pads the raised felt or the more squishy foam? I like the softer colors and her moonlight fog and some of the peachy pinks looked good. I’m trying to add some colors that don’t 100% duplicate my HA shadow inks. I’m also on the lookout for a good clean gray without the brown or purple cast.

I don't know of any dye inks that are squishy foam other than stampin up but I think I read that Catherine Pooler inks are squishy foam? I'm not positive.

Yes Catherine Pooler inks have the squishy foam. I have heard only good things about those inks.

I always been a fan of Stampin up and Ranger inks. My favorite go to was Ranger archival. Love that ink. Just recently I bought Fun Journey's hybrid ink and I am in love. Talk about crisp and fast drying. I kept wondering if it was oxide ink rebranded. Does anyone know?

Gina K has a new ink called Amalgam that's supposed to be good for everything. I have so many inks already but if I didn't I would try it. The biggest benefit is that you can stamp images in advance and even if you forget what you used to stamp, it's good for any coloring medium.

I know these companies package alike, and I think that’s right that they are all made by the same company. I have quite a few colors in most of these brands. I find a difference in how these stamp though, with Hero Arts coming in first, WPlus9 a close second followed by SSS and Lawn Fawn. Maybe it’s just the five colors I have, but I don’t get great coverage with Lawn Fawn. That’s why I stopped at five. Because they have the same manufacturer does that mean that the formulations are identical also?

I'll try it out on a variety of different coloring methods and report back.
