Was saving for a big shot but saw this at Joann for 39 and decided to try it, figuring i could always return it if i didn't like it.
First off, it's so small and light--and since i scrap on my dining room table and need to clear off frequently, that's nice. I also have a tiny storage area for my stash, so small is better.
I used some cuttlebug dies in it successfully, and will look at the spellbinders ones more closely. They weren't discounted so I held off.
Thought I would share!

I'm glad that you seem to like it! I think the hype of the Diamond Press has overshadowed this little gadget but that the Prizm is infinitely better. The difference in number of dies you can use with the slightly wider cutting space is significant. A lot of my Lawn Fawn dies that coordinate with critter stamp sets won't fit in the DP, but they fit with room to spare in the Prizm and the plates are so much better quality (and replacements are only $5 before coupons).

The Prizm is WAY too small for me but try Scrapbook Pal for dies, Spellbinders and Lawn Fawn prices there are good. They carry a lot of dies and $25 orders are free shipping!

Spellbinders was my first diecutter, too. I got the smaller Artisan at Tuesday Morning. Unfortunately, there were no plates available anymore to use embossing folders, which is something I wanted to do. I ended up with a second machine for embossing.
Lawn Fawn? I'd say you're in serious trouble. I am recommending that you do NOT see what's available from My Favorite Things. Have fun with it!

I'm fairly new to cardmaking and diecutting also. This is a set of dies Simon Says Stamp that are useful. Die Shape Bundle
I ended up subscribing to the Simon Says Stamp monthly card kit. It usually a good value, and if you don't like it, you can skip any month.
