In any event, PDX was hit with an unprecedented 12 inches of snow in 24 hours and the zoo got some super cute footage of some of the critters enjoying it. I could watch the otters all day, but also really enjoyed Samudra the Elephant. He seemed so nervous at first, but he certainly quickly learned just how wonderful snow is. Make sure you have your volume on, there are some funny noises too.

I saw that this morning. I loved the polar bear. Looked so happy. Oregon Zoo is my favorite Zoo.

I shared it on my facebook page and insisted my teenage watch it which he enjoyed. I loved all the animals but the polar bear and the elephant especially. The polar bear rolling in the fresh powder was just delightful!

Strange that the elephant enjoyed it since they are hot climate natives Sam is a funny guy, he is extremely playful in general it seems. They out a new fountain in last year and he is a total clown when it his turn in that section. He loves to roll around and pounce in it. He is delightful. |

I love how they were all just rolling around in the snow, looking like they were having so much fun. At first the elephant looked quite tentative, but then he was running around having a ball. Like Camcas said, I was surprised that he seemed to enjoy it as that is the complete opposite to their natural environment. I LOVED how the one seal was tapping the other, as if to say "LOOK! LOOK HOW FUN THIS IS !!!" That cracked me up! |
