200 buses have applied for city parking on Inauguration Day.

I think the Politics label needs to go on this.
But, if it's true, it says a lot about the passion of women and all marginalized groups.
About the article, normally, I get really annnoyed at how anything marketed toward women is 'pinked & shrinked' but in this case, Trump & those who dismissed his predatory behavior as locker room talk, it's clearly meant to send a message that's more unified than naysayers believe.
So many are descending upon DC for different reasons, but all those reasons are under the same umbrella of fundamental rights for women.

Interesting. Thank you for sharing. The manifesto that the march posted is pretty darn clear though. Not sure if I showed up head to toe in pink how you would miss the purpose unless that is what you wanted to see. The article is fairly sexist saying that only men can be serious because no way they would wear pink (not a direct quote, just the underlying sexism we see/hear.)

While the article makes some good points. This is not the 60's and your not sending a message to only logical, thoughtful people. This is the age of sound bytes and 140 characters, of short attention spans and feelings are facts.
Look at the election and the twitter master himself, it's not like he makes sense. So while the needs and rights to be addressed are very serious human rights, the target audience isn't other thoughtful, logical people, other thoughtful logical people are either already with you or they are actually opposing you for their own purposes and you won't change their minds. The audience to be swayed is the feelings are facts people. And those people do respond to 'gimmicks'

SEE how many are willing to spend the time to say "stop stepping on us!"

Back to the OP's op...by contrast, in 2009, over 3,000 buses applied for parking permits for President Obama's Inauguration Day. Wonder if Donald Trump knows that?

I call BS on her opinion. You can be pink fluffy sparkly AND on message!! That is just another example of women trying to tell each other what to do. There are 1000 different reasons why we march and we can believe this: We stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families - recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country. In pink sparkly knitted hats!!
