I am doing a Dec Daily with pocket pages (I'm using a 6 X 8 BoBunny album and their pages). Similar to Ali Edwards' pages there are a lot of 2 inch by 2 inch pockets. Is anyone else getting tired of trying to find a way to use those? Cutting up a whole 4 X 6 print for a 2 inch square seems a bit silly. I am using those for my journaling, but there are a LOT of those little squares.
I noticed on the Dec Daily Facebook discussion when Ali asked for comments or suggestions for next year, some people mentioned the 2 X 2 pockets too.

I love the 2x2 pockets but I can totally get why they're annoying to others. First of all: make photo collages before you print any photos so that you can maximise the space on a single 4x6 photograph. You should, technically, be able to get 6 2x2 photos out of a single photo. You can use all sorts of free apps if you're not Photoshop-savvy. Or good ol' Picmonkey's collage maker (free, online). Ways I've used 2x2 - 2" circle collages (for a single day: screenshot of weather app with temperature outside, something you ate, something you wore like thick socks, something you did, somewhere you went, and so on; or for a single theme such as all the holiday movies you watched that year) - one large 6x8 photo cut up (I just print 2 4x6 photos) with added possibilities to switch up a pocket or a line/row of pockets with shaker pockets - the concept described above but with the left row of photos showing one thing (the cold weather outside, being all bundled up for a walk, etc.), the middle row of shaker pockets followed by the right row showcasing the other thing (such as the warm cozy life inside your home) to create a fun element that showcases the divide/opposition between the comparitive rows - a collage of odds and ends/"silly bits" such as 2x2 pieces of all the different wrapping papers that were underneath the Christmas tree with a line of pockets holding some ribbons, bows and other giftwrap embellishments The 2" circle punch truly is a Godsend to get a 2x2 pocket page done really fast. Plus, it's a really fun way to peak through to the next page. Good luck and try to have fun with it!

I'm not doing a December Daily, but I bought some to use in my pocket scrapbooking, and I agree that they are definitely challenging. I just don't print any photos that small, and it is a bit of a small space for me to do journalling. In the past I have filled some of them up with "things" that look good from both sides...a charm, some sequins, some sand, some coins (for travel layouts), and then just fused the top.

Personally, my max is 1-2 of the pages per DD album.
I like them for lists or multiples: Kids, pets, Christmas cards, books, ornaments, etc.
Or for a page that is more aesthetic so it uses a ton of embellishments.
Or a word/phrase split up, one letter per pocket: HAPPY HOLIDAYS, MERRY CHRISTMAS, HOLIDAY CHEER, GOOD TIDINGS, etc (totally making these up and not counting pockets right now)

A idea...Search on Pinterest for Twinchies or embellishment ideas. Twinchies are 2x2 pieces of artwork.

I have noticed that SB paper companies are putting out more twinchie sized cards and sheets with 2x2 cutaparts. For example, here is one of the papers in the BoBunny Merry & BrightThose would work perfectly in those little pockets. ETA: the link takes you to the whole Merry & Bright line. I was trying to pinpoint the "Holidays" double sided page, with the black/red plaid on one side, and the little 2" squares on the other.

I wouldn't want a whole book of them but I love the look of those pages filled with embellishments. A confetti pocket, a pocket with some acrylic pieces, a chipboard piece. I like that it feels like a collection all sealed up. Basically, I like it for the looks, but not for the photos/journaling. I think headshots of your family or a collection of ornaments is good, like an overview, mixed in with see through pockets. Good luck and let us know what you pick!

I mostly use them for embellishment as well.

I do Journal Your Christmas with Shimelle and end up using that type page protector a grand total of once in my Christmas album. I cut 2x2 pieces of wrapping paper - both what I use to wrap gifts and what some of our gifts from family members comes wrapped in - and put them in there. I originally bought that style page protector to include 2x2 squares of valentines my daughter gets at school in my project Life album. Two pages a year between the two...that pack of page protectors is lasting a while!

Thanks for all the suggestions. The BoBunny pages I am using have six 2X2 pockets for one 4X6 on some pages, (and of course six more on the other side unless I use a transparent embellishment) and other pages with three 2X2 for two 4X4 pockets. I guess I will fill them with embellishments, bits of wrapping paper and other pretty papers. Some of the pages have 3X3 pockets and I did use those for ornament photo, but there are three more 2X2's on each of those pages!
Time to open up my Fuse tool and use it to seal some pockets with glitter or sequins.
I use Photoshop Elements and I try to get multiple 2X2 photos on each 4X6 print (I get my photos printed at Costco) but it is VERY tedious and time consuming.
Love the idea of checking out twinchies. I have made inchies in the past for fun so I am familiar with them.

I also used them for bits and pieces that didn't fit in anywhere else. Little cuts of wrapping paper, pieces of cards that people sent, photos that didn't make it in anywhere else - you can often figure out a way to crop just a little scrap of Xmas tree or lights or a person's face that will give a good impression when added to the page. I put a lot of the stuff that was on the table at the end of the project, that seemed sad/a waste to throw in the trash into those little squares. And looking back at my album the other day, even though those little square annoy me when I'm making them (because I can never quite exactly cut anything to perfectly fit) the overall impression of the mixture of papers and bitty photos was quite delightful.

I got the 2x2 passport punch from Amazon it was expensive but I love it. When I put sequins or any kind of embellishments in the pockets I close them by using my Tiny Attacher, I really want to learn to sew them closed.

with the 2x2 pockets, I had fun with photos that were easily cut into quadrants - I had a photo of my brother and niece - he was in the top right corner, she was in the bottom left - the background such allowed you to see that it was a whole picture, but when cut it was a fun addition to the page because of their faces.
I also cut a picture of a flower arrangement into quarters that looked really nice.

I used a couple page protecters with 2x2 squares for my December Daily. I would show you, but i don't know how to add photos here.

I cut 2x2 squares out of all of my Christmas cards one year and filled in squares with those on some holiday pages. I just found one portion to cut from each card I received. (I took the time to cut out the signature of whoever sent the card and glue it to the back of the 2x2 piece, so down the road, if I ever wonder who sent it, I can check, plus I have saved the handwriting of all of my relatives & friends.
