Ever had them wake you up in the middle of the night?
Last night our DS was playing video games in the family room after DH and I went to bed.
About an hour later Alexa wakes us up to say, "I'm sorry I can't find the information you are looking for". Hmmm...Alexa must have overheard something on the video game that woke her up.
Has your Alexa or Google Home surprised you at all?

She uses to pick up the tv quite a bit, but hasn't kately. I don't know if it is that she is further from the tv or that she has learned our voices better.
But yeah, the first couple of times she went off without me knowing we interesting

Alexa hasn't woken us up...she's in the family room. She has randomly said something or started playing music. Of course the tv ad always wakes her up. So far I haven't found a lot of practical uses for her. She did amuse my teenage grandsons by them jokes.

Shopping lists - everyone in the family adds to it so I have a complete list when I go to the store - love it.

It hasn't woken me up or anything but Alexa has said a few things out of the blue, which I guessed she heard something on TV. She has said "Hmmm...I can't find the answer you are looking for" and the other day she started reading a book just out of the blue, scared me silly.
Yesterday, a friend was over and said to me "I like your shirt" and Alexa said "That is a nice thing for you to say" - it was strange because Alexa's response was appropriate but my friend never said "Alexa" or my name and the TV wasn't on - it was funny and creepy at the same time.

She is becoming self aware! i don't think mine has started talking spontaneously, but I wonder if she does when we are not home. She still kind of scares the cats. I sometimes confuse her by saying please and thank you after every request, but darn it, when mine does become self aware I want her to remember that I always treated her with courtesy and respect! I call mine Echo because I like that better and that way the random commercial doesn't set her off.

Oh my! How interesting that she knew how to respond to that? Wow!

Our dog is still trying to get used to her voice, his ears perk up and he has barked at her a couple of times.
