I am looking for a recipe and it may be from the 70's. I don't remember much about it other than it is good It is a cooked recipe with fruit. I know it has crushed pineapple, cornstarch (for thickening) and possibly an egg. We used to mix it with diced apples and other fruit that was in season. Does this recipe ring a bell with anyone? My sister-in-law and I have both misplaced our recipe. My mother-in-law has no idea what we are talking about and she used to make it too. The lady who gave me the recipe is 97 and doesn't remember it. I know this is a recipe my SIL and I both cannot be making it up **I found something very close. 1 large can of crushed pineapple TBSP corn starch 1/2 c sugar Cook until thickened, Chill, mix with fruit. My SIL still thinks there may be an egg in the recipe.

Slow cooker hot fruit salad? allrecipes.com/recipe/68460/hot-fruit-salad/It does sound something similar to something my mom used to make that she insisted was Chinese, it was a can of fruit cocktail poured into boiling water that had glutinous rice balls boiled in it. It was pretty awful but all chinese desserts are pretty awful, mostly sweet soups.

No, Those are not it. It's cooked on top of the stove and cooled. One time I made it and served it in a large meringue shell.

I used to make this one all the time and forgot all about it. You said your recipe had egg, which reminded me of it. My husbands Grandfather absolutely loved this and would request I make it for every get together. He's been gone for quite a few years now and I don't think I've made it since. www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/fluffy-fruit-saladLooks like there is a typo in the instructions. Just use one saucepan, not one small and one large. You cook all that together in one saucepan. I always added whatever fruit was fresh in season like strawberries and apples. I guess it could be from the 70's, but I got it from Taste Of Home magazine probably from the mid to late 90's.

This is my favorite fruit salad that my mom makes. It requires an egg...
1 egg 1/4 c sugar 1-2 Tbsp flour 1-2 Tbsp butter 1 can pineapple chunks (drain well, reserve 1 c of juice)
1 tub of Cool Whip
Apple w/peel, chopped 1 1/2 stalks of celery, diced green grapes walnuts mini marshmallows
Cream together egg and sugar. Blend in flour. Add butter and juice. Cook on medium stirring constantly until thickened. Let cool. Fold in cool whip then fold in fruit etc.
