I binged watched all of the episodes (there's only 4 so far, the 5th is on tonite) and I am LOVING this show....totally my type of humor.
Have you seen this show yet?

Oh...and does anyone understand the scheduling? It seems to be on FX and Fox? Our DVR didn't pick up all the shows, and we had it to record on FX. But I think Fox aired episodes 2 and 3?(I mean episodes 3/4 aired on Fox?)

we actually watched episodes 1-4 at work on the computer (boss and me) on the fox website. I tried to watch the 4th episode at home last night (on demand for xfinity/comcast) and the 4th episode was not available to watch. weird...

I like her a lot. I mean a really lot. I like the littlest kid, but the older daughter, while I like her, I just think she's too old. She doesn't fit right for me. Same with the middle son. I think he's good, but I don't like him in this role.
Have you ever seen American Housewife? I loved the first episode, but don't like it anymore. The kids are not right at all. They are even worse than this one for me. They actually disturb me. I see kids that fit in to their programs so well and then ones like these two shows that just don't work (for me, at least)
I think getting characters to gel is so so important. The idea of this show and the main character are great. But the characters don't work for me.
FWIW, I know they often have to put 20 somethings for teens, but I hate it. I'd rather see a kid in a kid's role.

The American Housewife show seems contrived and stupid and it's always about her weight and honestly that's what most of us look life in middle life (I don't think she's as large as she makes herself out to be). I get that she's conscious about the weight but how is that helping her kids...especially the one that needs the help and the whole premise of the show as to why they live there. I don't know what's really wrong with it but, I know it's just a stupid show and it just really doesn't make me laugh. Now The Mick, I have laughed out loud every time I've watched it. The humor is raunchy and over the top but at the same pace and humor as It's always Sunny in Philadelphia so I find it funny. I'm sure someone watching is like, Oh, this is so not politically correct but that really is what makes it funny. Sandy |
