No, my dh wouldn't think about notifying on the internet since he doesn't have a facebook, twitter or even an instagram account. Jennifer

No unless my sister comes on here and says so, but she has only signed up and hasn't participated as far as I know. (you know she is the smart ass one that posts... potty mouth and all.. .heehee) I just thought of a couple of my pea friends... so they would probably find out through FB and MIGHT post on here... So to my three pea/FB friends, I give you permission to announce my death. Go have a party on me!! (Well not ON me...)

You better have your families tell us that you're gone and haven't ditched us for another message board. Without you my house would be clean, the laundry all folded and put away, five course meals served every day, and an award winning garden. I'd rather hear about your experiences with the crazy ass people at the store, your cray cray neighbors and your families that love to drive you to drink. My kids know my sign in, so if you start seeing a bunch of freaky posts assume that I am dead and my kids are screwing with you. Excellent plan! I think I will adopt this approach myself.

I didn't have a plan but now I'm thinking I'll tell my sister to post here if I die unexpectedly. She knows I come here every day and she knows the name I use here. I talk about the peas all the time so I think she would do it since she knows how much I like it here. I think I'll ask my sister to do the same.

I am so freaking dealing with this right now. My oldest sister died May 18th. She was "special." I had been trying to get her into an assisted living facility for two years. She was a hoarder and special and handicapped. Not two months before she died, an attorney next door had me come to her office to ask me to witness and notarize some very special living wills and powers of attorney for a really lovely couple. The husband had early on-set Alzheimers, and for every single paper, he asked, "What is this about?" And for every single paper, his lovely wife said, "Sweetheart, this is you won't have to worry about _______." And every single time, he said, "Oh, yes, that is good, I don't want to worry about that any more." But one time, the attorney said, "Walt, this is because you might have a leak in the boat," and for that time, the man became very agitated and said, "WHAT? There's a leak in the boat?!" End of life planning is very thick on the planning part. I'm here to testify. My special sister died, and I spend one day of every weekend trying to clean out her house. It is not fun. For some reason, she spent a lot of time printing out recipes. I have to go through them one page at a time because my parents were important people who lived in a lovely, historic home, and they threw parties for important people who were major league NFL football coaches (Norm Van Brocklin) or poets (Daniel Whitehead Hickey). Stuff like this stinks. But dang, you just have to get through it. chirpingcricket, I'm sorry for your loss. Going through things can be rough even when you don't have the added stress of the loss. My brother collects autographs and memorabilia so I know when he dies we will have to go through everything single thing carefully. Sending positive vibes.

No one would care so it doesn't matter. Once you spend more time here you'll realize that we do.

I do not, and I don't know that anyone would notice. I don't have anyone IRL who knows about this site. Nor do I have any pea friends on Facebook. That's kind of sad. I think I need to rethink this whole thing. I want the peas to miss me...

KiKiPea, I would miss you. Me too! DH would have no clue. I suspect some friends would post something on my FB page and my pea friends that are also on FB might post on the board. Not to worry...I will rush right over and let the Peas know!!

Only if I could post as a ghost. You'll see a thread titled something like "GUYS! I TOTALLY DIED!" and then the post will probably be a string of weird characters and end in static. Then you'll know.

Will this board still be around in fifty years? I'm hoping I still have a good 50 years of life left in me before death knocks on my door.

Nope. I doubt anyone would notice my absence. Not looking for sympathy, it's just stating a fact.

I have one IRL friend on here that might update ya'll. Other than that, I don't want people even knowing that I'm sharing with you! It's my place to vent!

They wouldn't if I died and that would be fine with me. To those who say no-one would notice or care...take a quick look around the forum. See all those messages to people who no-one knows IRL? To the anonymous posters? People empathise and are more than willing to give that to those who are having a bad time or the families of members who are IYKWIM. If you do not post often, are not 'well known' or don't get responses to every post you make, it does not make you less of a person, or any less fondly thought of (I'd go as far as to say I think far more fondly of some of those who post less often, but make me notice what they say by the way it is thought out or presented ).

No. I dropped off the board for a couple of years a while back and I doubt anyone noticed. DH knows I'm on the board, but he wouldn't think to come here and let y'all know.
