We're marching in Denver tomorrow! I'm really excited about it, and there's a ton of positive energy surrounding the plans. I've got my pink hat, it's fleece! 😊 My husband is coming as well, because he feels he needs to get out there and support the women, the LGBT, the vulnerable. I'm so proud of you all. ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/W4b_Om5roEadLiOzGo_l.jpg)

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the hat supposed to be? Representative of a cat? If so, I just got a knitted kitty hat with ears for my DD that happens to fit me that I could wear ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) My Mom, daughter and I will be at the Woman's March in NH!

It is a way to reclaim the word "pussy" from the demeaning and sexually assaultive way in which the President used it: “Your girl’s hot as shit, in the purple,” says Bush, who’s now a co-host of NBC’s “Today” show....“I’ve gotta use some tic tacs, just in case I start kissing her,” Trump says....“And when you’re a star they let you do it,” Trump says.... “Grab them by the pussy,” Trump says. “You can do anything.” That it is pink, besides having ears, attests to the double-entendre.

I'm not saying this for a political discussion. I had strongly considered attending, but I am pro-life and we are not welcome at the March.

I'm not saying this for a political discussion. I had strongly considered attending, but I am pro-life and we are not welcome at the March. I'm certain that there are other women's issues that you could march for - health care, education, against sexual assault, pay equity, housing, etc. That said, you are probably correct that if the only issue you want to march about involves taking away control of women's bodies and choices, it might not be well received.

I didn't feel called to march against abortion rights, but rather for women's equality and fair treatment under the law. But from what I have read on the nation MFW, similarly thinking groups have been uninvited.

And it's too bad you've decided not to march. I'm pro-life and I'll be there. I'm also pro-choice, which doesn't negate the "life" part. I think all of us are "pro-life" no matter what we think about choice. The *choice* is what I'm marching for -- equality so we have choices, and laws so that we have choices. The "uninvited" part was for official anti-abortion groups. The march organizers didn't want *official* groups, with banners and placards and their name on the march website, to be connected to the march. Individual people from any groups are welcome. And of course they might have their own signs, no one is going to rip it from their hands. Not officially anyway.

Betsy DeVos, the spectacularly unqualified candidate for Secretary of Education. I think we have a thread going about her. And, search my name for the thread I posted yesterday with the HUGE list of all the sister marches going on around the world. It's pretty amazing! eta: wellway. lol. For some reason your thread where you answered about DeVos did not show up for me, until I posted my reply saying the same thing. lol. Despite the fact that you posted it ages before I did. Weird... lol

elaine the Tokyo March was awesome. There were initially two marches planned in the same place at the same time. One by Democrats Abroad to thank Obama, and the other, sponsored by the women's march focusing on other important issues. They joined up and we all marched together. It was incredible. Everyone was friendly and happy to be there despite the freezing temperatures. There were mostly American expats, but I heard some Aussie and European accents in the crowd too. The organizers asked that the banners were kept positive, so there were a lot of creative signs about equality, etc. Although a few people snuck in with their 'Dump Trump' signs which was annoying because of course they were the photographs chosen to accompany various articles in Japanese newspapers this morning, rather than the specific positive messages we were hoping for. Not sure many of the Japanese passers by really knew what was going on, although many whipped out their phones to take photos! All in all it was a great experience and I'm glad I took part. I hope you and everyone else enjoys their marches as much as I did!

I live in the metro DC area. The studio where I workout is a few blocks from a metro station, and also conveniently located next to an amazing donut shop - which became a meeting place for march participants. When I left class this morning, the whole area was a sea of pink hats. It. Was. AWESOME!
