We just got back from the Dallas march with DH and my twin girlies. It was awesome! I don't know the headcount, but it was much bigger than I was anticipating. Unfortunately all of us have been putting in super long days, so we had no chance to make signs or hats, but I wore my Notorious RBG shirt, DH donned in Wonder Woman shirt, and the girlies both wore their Ben & Jerry's "Love Comes in all Flavors" shirt.
Oldest DD is in Austin. Haven't heard from her in a bit, but the news is saying 40K people there.

My other pics were from the Mall which was spacious compared to Independence Avenue. Here is what it looks like there: ![](https://farm1.staticflickr.com/642/32293923252_76994d8b73_k_d.jpg)

I doubt he even acknoweldges it. As an aside, it hit me today that since I refuse to refer to him by the formal title, he needs a nickname. Skypea's DBO got me thinking.... what about DDT? A pesticide that does more harm than good and has been banned in many places ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Rumour is we had over 700 today, which is amazing for us. We're not the type to rally here. And the most they were expecting was around 550, if everyone on FB showed up.

The estimates for Seattle are 130,000. I can tell you that it took 45 minutes for me to go a block. Positivity everywhere. The rally chant was "we will rise."

London Women's MarchI saw photos earlier and it was astounding. And you have to wonder...surely there is a point where you look beyond your backyard (literally) and see that the rest of the world is protesting your presidency and think 'maybe I need to step it up a little??'

Went to the march in San Diego with a friend, when we got on the trolley to go downtown we happened to get on the same car as friends of mine, so we all banded together. Once we arrived downtown we all managed to get close to the front of the march. It was exhilarating to feel the energy in the crowd. I ran into so many people I knew, men and women alike. I teared up when I ran into my 6'7" basketball coach from junior high, he was easy to spot since he is so tall!
After the march I made my way home and immediately upped my monthly donation to Planned Parenthood. I also was able to speak with newly elected delegates in my district and have plans to stay in contact with them throughout these next four years.

I unfortunately wasn't able to attend, but they estimated 10,000 joined the march in Olympia, WA today - about 8,000 more than they anticipated. I'm so sad I wasn't able to be there with my kids, but happy the turn out was so good ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) . These photos and stories are wonderful!

It warms my heart to see the amazing, bigger-than-expected turnout at marches around the country and world. I have female relatives who marched in Denver, Co and Juneau, AK, and friends who marched in Philly and in DC and I'm so proud of all of them and all of you who peacefully marched today!

I'm back from the Chicago March, and I'm still trying to process it all. I've never done anything like this before, and it was one of the most incredible experiences. My dd, my friends, and I were part of history today. Now I need to think about what comes next for me. How can I channel my energy to do something positive--for women, for education? I am overwhelmed when I think about how this was both a countrywide and worldwide event today. I'll post a few photos below, if I can figure out how to do it. The attendance was far beyond what had been predicted. It was wall-to-wall people. There are reports that the march was 'cancelled'. That's not really true. The actual 'march' was cancelled, technically, but honestly, with so many people walking around, there was definitely a lot of marching going on. We were parked across from the Trump Tower (coincidentally), and there was just a never-ending stream of people going by it once the rally/speeches ended. I saw some incredible signs. We didn't take any (making the hats was about all I could handle), and I can't imagine I could have been that creative anyway. The whole thing was very peaceful and everyone was friendly, even the police that we saw. I was proud to be there. I apologize for the giant images. I post photos so seldom that I have no idea what I am doing and this took forever. If someone has any tips as to how to make them smaller, I'll fix them. ![]() ![](http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/ah31/jreedslp/IMG_9393_zpskosmniql.jpg) ![](http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/ah31/jreedslp/IMG_6709_zps47itifo4.jpg) ![](http://i1376.photobucket.com/albums/ah31/jreedslp/IMG_4300_zpsprlidvmi.jpg) ![]() ![]()

The tweets from the Madison WI PD also warms my heart MPD twitter yeah, so much for the "violent protester" stigma. Nothing to see here but PEACE! Yup. Speaking of the police: The Chicago four-block march was canceled because of the size of the crowds, but, well, 250,000 people were already crowded into several streets and in the mood to march, so march they did. We marched about twelve blocks of several spontaneous routes that somehow managed to converge. Along the way: 1. My husband got in a conversation with a police captain, who basically said, "I'm good with this. People are mostly marching in the direction we're pointing them, everybody is polite, and it's an incredibly peaceful event...no reason not to let 'em just keep going." 2. My college son, who had his trusty "Free hugs" sign, asked a cop if he wanted a hug. Cop good-naturedly hugged my son and then his partner got mock-mad until my son hugged her, too. Jili, posting at the same time and we might have walked right by each other today! (I was the middle-aged woman with the pink hat. LOL.)

I've just watched our main evening news and reports of these marches from around the world were amazing. It gives hope!
How will DT spin the worldwide marches and the news coverage? Will he call the world's press liars too?
