I've always been intrigued by this house along the Mississippi River with it's unusual "regional" and mythical flavor. I know you all like a good real estate train wreck...I present you Poseidon's Fortress. This is guy lives about five miles from me. He is a local anesthesiologist. COMMENTS? I have a few

Wow. All I can say is wow.
It was an odd mix of over-the-top customizing and cheap upgrades. It looks like it was built 20-30 years ago and tried to updated. But it failed. It just looks gimmicky and forced. I wonder what it would be like with all the red LEDs shut off. I can't imagine sleeping in that bed in a pool of red light. I once put red curtains in DS's bedroom and had to get rid of them. The red cast was just too creepy. But maybe with a few wires snipped and a lot of paint, it would be more normal. It really doesn't look like that big of a house--at least how it lives. The main room is right inside the front door and the bedrooms don't have a sense of privacy.

I could use a bronzed beast in my life. The glowbed makes me think naughty thoughts.

Where to start?
The flame pillars and beating heart?
The "dance on the sun"?
Or the marble/tile mosaic that looks like a dalmation's spots?
I quit watching after that room... just couldn't stand to listen to him for a whole 11 minutes!

I can't believe that I watched the whole thing. I played it without the volume. Am I right in assuming that the guy is the owner? I know I shouldn't judge a book by the cover but I don't think I'd feel comfortable with him taking care of me in an operating room. Where does one begin to comment on the details in this custom home? The smoke that comes out from under the chairs is a nice touch when you're feeling groovy. Those beds would make me feel like a star - yeah, you know what kind. And the temple in the gym because your body is your temple. My question is what is the hole in the ground near the other building?

I couldn't make it past Poseidon. I realized there were 9 minutes us left and decided I wouldn't make it. Can I unsee it now?

I think the hole you are asking about is the fire pit.
Guess what kind of car he drives? I know...

That is...is...oh my.
The idea of my anesthesiologist partying down with fog and led lights, then retreating to the mirror ceilinged cave room is...uh...no. Just no. The house (and outfit) show way too much about the dude, I hope he made a fortune and is retiring, because I can't see hiring a doctor with such...tastes.
Good thing the marlin stays, that's a big plus.

Me thinks the anesthesiologist is bringing home prohibited drugs from the hospital.

It is scary to think that there are homes out there like this...even scarier to think that they are owned by a person responsible for monitoring you while you have surgery. Do you know how much he is asking for it? The way he is presenting it makes me think that he has put a high dollar amount on it.

I don't understand why someone would create their perfect retreat and then sell it when it's done...I mean everyone has something they like but really, do you think everyone who wants a house also wants a Christian rock band logo to dance on amidst a sea of LED lit collections of favorite vacations? I guess the Madonna inn could open a Minnesota location, lol.

Holy cow.... I'd have a constant headache from all the LED lights and all the gaudiness. Have to ask though - how much is it listing for and what car does he drive? LOLOL

I'm curious what he's asking for it. I bet all that custom inlaid granite design stuff and etched glass and bronze statue and hand painted pool, etc. were very expensive. Not my taste at all, but I'm dying to know what it costs and if anyone will buy it.

That may be one of the most disturbing videos I've seen on YouTube. That dude gives me the creeps! Forgive me for asking, but am I supposed to be impressed that he mentions a shower to fit 4 people?!? Sorry, dude, I don't plan to be casting "adult" films any time soon!

If you leave the cave bedroom disappointed you have no one to blame but yourself.
Ha! I nearly spit iced tea out at that.

Oh, yes. You must listen to the narration.
The house was built in the fifties and he "remodeled" it. I really love the palm trees in MINNESOTA.---maybe even more than Poseidon. Their plastic palms waving in the -30 winter winds.
