We have a provincially licensed child care centre at my workplace (NB, Canada)
Roughly $160/week for babies under 2 ( we have 12 months maternity/parental leave here so rarely have babies less than 9 months old) Roughly $140/week for ages 2-5 Roughly $75/week for before and after school care for ages 5-12, bumps to $140/week for summer care.
We also run a provincially licensed casual child care program where parents may drop kids for appointments, respite, emergency, etc for $4/hour.(I work for a Military Family Resource Centre, often families are new to the area, no relatives, etc. So this is a busy program)

My youngest is still in daycare (age 5). He goes to an in-home daycare provider. We pay $130 per week. Centers are much more expensive. I am in MN.

Daycare is why I am a stay at mom. When we moved here, day care was nearly $400 a week if you could find a spot. I would not have made much more than that. So instead of paying someone to watch my son, I stayed home.
I found great preschools and community center programs.
Daycare costs at that time were do high a friend hired a live in nanny for her 3. And saved money!

For my oldest when we had her full time for pre-k (8-6, m-f) it was $2,500 a month. I'm home now. My middle is in preschool and I think we pay around $6,000 for the year, that's just school year schedule, m/w/f, 8:30-12. I'm in the bay area. I was a teacher before kids (my take home was $3,000 tops a month), once I got pregnant with our second it didn't make financial sense for me to continue teaching. Plus I enjoy being home with the kids.

Child care fees in my city are usually between $80 - $120 per day, with some centres charging up to $140 per day. I think the one where my DD went when she was little is about $110 per day. Back then (1998-2002) it was $190 per week, but as I was a single mum at the time I got a good rebate and only paid half that. I can't believe how expensive it is now!

I pay about $5 a hour in Poland. The going rate is almost $4 an hour. She comes to my home a couple days a week. When we move, my DS will be going to preschool.

New Hampshire but I am sure it more expensive in the Boston Area.
on average: $250 a week for a baby $180 a week for a toddler/preschooler $60 - $75 a week for after school program (double that if you do before and after school)
I pay our babysitter/mother's helper $12 a hr.
Unless you have a high paying career or a family member that will be dependable enough to babysit for you, being a sahm or just having a part time night and weekend job is sometimes a better financial decision.

Florida
I don't use child care (I'm a SAHM) but the facility DD's best friend goes to...
Infants: $150 per week 1 year olds: $130 per week 2 year olds: $120 per week 3 year olds: $105 per week 4 year olds: $ 90 per week Before & after school $ 65 per week School age (Summer) $ 80 per week
When my oldest was in special needs daycare as a preschooler - I paid $18/day (I made $5/hr - yeah that was fun budgeting) in AZ back in the mid 90s

I pay $125 per week for a private sitter in rural Virginia. I don't have to pay if she doesn't go. The rate doesn't change from infancy to toddler, etc.

$19,000 per year, but ours is a bargain... around here (NJ/NYC) most daycares charge "tuition" ( no I'm not kidding! ) of $25,000-$30,000+ for Sept-June.

When we moved to the Chicago area, my DD was 9 months and we paid almost $300/week. She's 8 y.o. now. That was full-day child care. It went down a bit after she reached 15 months.

Ugh. Full time for a 2 year old and after school for a 9 year old is $2250 a month.
The infant spots are even worse, 2200 at my work for just one.
I am in Toronto and day care is just impossible. Most places charge you $50-150 to just be put on the waiting list, where the spots are sometimes a three year wait list. I literally put my son on wait lists BEFORE I told my husband I was pregnant. He is two in March and I just checked with the daycare last week and they told me they may have a spot in March 2018. Day care just sucks.
