GOP congressman reports that ‘women are in my grill’ about Obamacare nytlive.nytimes.com/womenintheworld/2017/01/31/gop-congressman-reports-that-women-are-in-my-grill-about-obamacare/"A Republican congressman is apparently put off by the complaints of his female constituents who don’t want Obamacare repealed. At a gathering of conservative groups on Saturday evening, U.S. Representative Dave Brat of Virginia spoke candidly of his constituents’ reactions, particularly those voiced by women, to congressional Republicans’ bid to repeal the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. “Since Obamacare and these issues have come up, the women are in my grill no matter where I go,” Brat, whose remarks were recorded on video and posted to Facebook, told the gathering. “They come up — ‘When is your next town hall?’ And believe me, it’s not to give positive input.”" Awwww, dumpling. You got teh sadz about being called to account because we don't want to go back to the land of lifetime maximums and pre-existings?! How about you find a way to take those BILLIONS upon BILLIONS in profits that the health care companies, insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies are making and work on getting some of them back into HEALTHCARE vs. profits.

Am I the only one surprised that a congressman would say, "in my grill" like he's some rapper wannabe lite?

No, you shouldn't be surprised. Paul Ryan's poll doesn't mean shit. He's doing it just for show. I loved it when his news conference caught him saying "This us a wastes of my fucking time." Now I cuss like that too, but this was the news conference because if the chaos over the weekend. He has no sympathy for those whose lives were thrown into chaos and families detained and ripped apart, nor for the real a lot of us are feeling.
I have been calling and requesting Town Hall meetings and found , they have no intention of scheduling a meeting where there constitutes reside. They forget the D.C. is their satellite office.
Keep calling, keep asking, iqebevonly just begun. Be strategic, don't burn out.

you wanted OC, you got it - you should be thanking those companies, not complaining about them! they jumped at making those 'devil' deals with the dbo admin!

Is that the same number you would call to support the repeal?

Keep calling, keep writing, keep showing up! Progressive activism takes its toll on congressional Republicans www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/progressive-activism-takes-its-toll-congressional-republicans"House Ways and Means Committee Kevin Brady (R-Texas), for example, scheduled an event in his district two weeks ago to discuss the Affordable Care Act, and he seemed eager to limit the audience to his allies. The gathering was held at a local Chamber of Commerce headquarters, it wasn’t announced to the public, and the congressman’s office said the point of the event was to hear from constituents facing “rising costs and loss of coverage and choice” because of “Obamacare.” As the Houston Chronicle reported, dozens of “skeptical and at times testy” locals showed up to express their vocal support for the health care reform law.
There’s a lot of this going around. Rep. Mike Coffman (R-Colo.) recently snuck out the back of a library in order to steer clear of constituents who wanted to tell him not to take away their insurance. Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) faced a similar reaction during a town-hall event in Grand Rapids. TPM had a related report today out of Illinois."
