I was just reading on the Yahoo main page that the Today show has lost Tamron Hall as of this past Tuesday and Al will be leaving in the fall. NOOOOOOOO!!!!
I LOVE AL ROKER
That is the dumbest move since getting rid of Ann Curry and Natalie Morales.
Someone please tell me this is not true and this is so called "fake news"

Are you sureAl is leaving the Today show completely? I thought I read that he was going to be done with just the 9am hr in the fall, and staying on for the 7 and 8am hrs yesterday. I hope he doesn't leave. I like him. He's usually so happy in the mornings.
Tamron I can't say I'm sad to see her go. I don't find her to be very personable. Sorry.

I believe Tamron left because their (her and Al's) 9:00 hour is being replaced in the Fall with an hour of Megyn Kelly. The 9:00 hour is the highest rated in it's time slot, so I'm imagining she is a little mad. After the announcement she refused to resign her contract with NBC and MSNBC. I don't blame her. I liked that hour of the Today Show. ETA: TamronAl also said goodbye to her on the show this morning. Al's Goodbye |

I haven't watched the today show in a long time. It is to fluffy for a news show. And I think al roker has gotten a bit crotchety.

I am sad about Tamron but thought Al was still on? If he leaves I will be pissed. I don't mind Megyn but like Tamron better in that position.
I am still fuming at my local newscast and all their changes recently. What is in the water?

No! My mom just told me about Tamron. I like them both so much. I didn't like Bill Bush, but it has nothing to do with the Trump bus thing, I never really liked him.

Of course I can't find the original story I read but you guys are right, Al is staying for the morning and Megyn Kelly is taking over the 9 o'clock hour which was Today Take with Al and Tamron.
I am sad to see Tamron go but I would have been more sad if Al also was gone. |

I am the absolute opposite, Al Roker drives me batty sometimes. I find him more annoying than enjoyable. He is happy but I really can't take him in very large doses.
I do like Tameron though and I think she is personable. Back when they had the 4 people for that mid morning portion I really liked Willie Geist the best. I also liked he and Tameron together. I was not always such a fan of Natalie Morales and Al, Al being my least favorite. He is an icon though.

I think I remember her saying that they were moving to California because of her husband and that they thought it was best for their family. She was still supposed to do stuff for NBC, but maybe more on weekends? I am a CBS person in the mornings but sometimes would catch the 10 o'clock hour of NBC (or at least a few minutes of it) if I didn't change the channel after watching Live with Kelly. For some reason I am not a big fan of the whole NBC morning line-up. |

I don't see much morning TV unless school is not in session or I'm home for some reason (for example, final appointment this afternoon in the root canal/crown process), but I've watched the Today show for years. I'm over Al Roker, he's just too much sometimes and I wouldn't miss him if he were totally gone from the show. I like Tamron and I liked Willie Geist. I've not seen that much of Megyn Kelly because I rarely watched Fox News. Not sure how I feel about that move.

Willie Giest has the Sunday hour now. Show is very similar to CBS Sunday Morning which I adore. I just can't make the break from Today Show. I only see it on weekends or if I am off. My sister and I visited the Today on our first trip to NYC and we watched it growing up. I will watch CBS Saturday mornings if my local station makes Today a 30 minute show and I do enjoy it, but cannot cut the Today show cord. I liked Tamron and really hate to see her go.

Willie is on Sunday's most of the time by himself. I don't care for it with just him. It gets long hearing only the same man talk and talk. I think he needs someone else to work with to make the show more interesting. I turn it off if he is alone.
Natalie has been on NBC's entertainment show, I can't think of the name of it. I think that's a slap to her. To see her doing celebrity news just doesn't seem right.

That's so sad! I was wondering why she wasn't there for Matt's 20th anniversary episode, even the two ladies on maternity leave showed up for it. Al has also been there 20 years, maybe he's ready to move on. I don't believe it's just for Megan's hour, that would mean they are also letting go Hoda and Kathy, but no such announcement was made. Tamron could stay on to do special segments, yet she was not invited to sub for the women on maternity leave. Why don't they drop Jenna Bush? I think Hoda and Kathy come on some time after them but don't know exactly when. Natalie was the co-host sub all last week on the Today show. She does ET now full time and often does live pieces for the Today which I think must be hard getting up that early. She barely talked when she was on the Today show so I never understood her role. |

Al said Tamron "decided to leave" I don't believe it, why wasn't she there for a goodbye special? Also Tamron hasn't posted anything on her Facebook page while all her fans are commenting on it. I think Al was being nice and saving face for Tamron. I like Tamron but I've noticed whenever I read the comments under a today show Facebook post a lot of people don't like her.

I gave up on the Today show around the time they put us through watching the extremely mean behavior of Matt Lauer towards Ann Curry. TBH, I never felt Ann was comfortable in the host role and thought she fawned around celebrities. She is a fabulous reporter though and did some really great humanitarian reports and really didn't deserve to be treated so badly by NBC.
Last I saw of Al, I thought he was trying to move into more interviewing and reporting, not just being the weather guy.
I love George Stephanopoulos and tried ABC for a while, but couldn't get over all the other host/celebrities. I want the news and interesting interviews. CBS delivers on that - I highly recommend it for anyone looking for good news coverage. I was a bit concerned when I saw Josh Elliott subbing in, but since he didn't mention his daughter once it was okay.

I cannot stand Al Roker and Matt Lauer. After Ann Curry left, I was done.
I like Tamron Hall. She's done a show on the ID channel that is well done. I usually watch GMA, but I am not happy with how they changed their set. I like everyone on there, but there's too much celebrity news. I deleted the whole thing today after the 3rd or 4th announcement/news story pertaining to Beyonce being pregnant. I want more serious news. I'll probably be switching to CBS.
