so how do I? I went to my profile and thought I uploaded a photo, it looked super easy...but my photo didn't show up. what did I do wrong? |

I had a lot of trouble and it didn't work on either of the mobile devices I use. It final worked when I used my laptop.

I did mine on a desktop and didn't have any trouble. I have my photo uploaded to Photobucket and linked from there.

I tried from photobucket too. I just realized that it is too big--more than 1MB. I don't know how to resize it, though. |

When I copy and paste the link from Photobucket, I get a message that says link not valid.

I decided to use an avatar now too. Just cropped a pic on my phone and viola!!

The photo I want to use isn't on my phone...I just have it saved on Photobucket and on my computer. It is 1.67 MB. I can't figure out how to make it smaller. I cropped it, but that didn't change the MB. |

One of the reasons I like to host pics on Tiny Pic is that it is so easy to resize. It's a drop down menu and you choose size based on the use. There is a choice for avatar!! Also you don't have to open an account to upload a picture.

What the heck am I doing wrong??? I tried tiny pic, chose the avatar format, and when I tried to link it, it still said the link was not valid.

Once you have the photo you want opened in Photobucket Click Edit (it's above the photo) Click Resize Change the photo size to somewhere around 150x150 (For example, mine is 133x197) Does that help? |

There are 4 different codes over to the right of your image in Photobucket. Which one are you copying? When adding your avatar link you should be copying the one that says DIRECT. Before you paste it into the box here on the board, make sure the box is completely empty. You have to delete the http: thing that's already there. |

Try tinypic.com before you give up. Photobucket is very fickle whenever I use it, but tiny pic always works for me.
