I think that for skypea and millions of others like her, they literally only care that he isn't Obama. They don't understand Trump's EOs. They don't understand who Bannon is. They don't know enough about politics on a world scale to be scared. They literally only care that there's a rich old white man in office again. CNN had several women from Arizona on this morning that supported Trump. The blind adoration, frankly, frightened me. It was like they were followers in a cult. They made comments like, "I love him." And, "He's wonderful." They didn't say even one thing that made me think they understood, or even knew of, his political policies and actions. I saw those ladies, too! It was definitely cult-like. Unfortunately, I am surrounded by quite a few of those people. That's why I love my peas!

Skypea - can you actually respond to any criticism of Trump without referring to Obama? What would she possible have left to say, then?

Can I ask a silly question? Are these real covers published by the magazines or just mock ups by people? They are quite shocking but definitely how I am feeling. The New Yorker is real.. not sure about the others.

You can take a look at a few more at the Barnes & Noble newsstand section under current events. I applaud these magazines for their powerful covers and am sure the panic is moving to a fever pitch in the Republican leadership. They thought they would be able to control Trump and use him to push through their agenda and have no clue how to rein him in and get rid of Bannon. B&N current event magazinesExactly. They'll have to impeach and take their chances with Pence

Re the assassination cover: Nobody wants it to come to that. Because if it becomes necessary it means he's gotten so out of control that the security of the entire world is at stake. If it comes down to Being the only way to prevent Armaggedon, the greater good outranks one life.

I don't agree with that completely. One crackpot can try to shoot him, just because they don't like him or because they want to impress Jodi Foster. LOL
Was the security of the world at stake when JFK was assassinated? I don't know for sure because I was a baby then. When John Hinkley attempted to assassinate Regan, it wasn't because the safety of the world was at stake. It was because a mentally ill man thought he would impress a famous actress if he killed the president.
I will not be surprised if someone does try to assassinate Trump.

Many of my DH's friends think the same. However, they think it will be a paid hit.

This isn't a magazine cover, but re: Bannon, I thought it was spot on. More's the pity.

no, we just finally got him out of the WH! thank God! You never offer anything to a political conversation. Your responses smack of childish tit for tat reminiscent of my kids, when they were younger and being put in check. child: but so and so did xyz The tactics of diversion didn't work then and they don't work now. I mean, you don't even bother to follow your "dbo did it too" up with any facts. Half the time your rebuttal makes no sense. You lack any credibility but yet you seem to fancy yourself the board's spokesperson for the right. You're not doing them any favors.

I try not to pay too much attention to the Real Housewives of the Crazy Right Wing. What does DBO stand for anyway? I'm out of the loop.

Barack Obama, but the first part is up for interpretation by Skypea I'd imagine. I always read it as "Distinguished", because I can.

You, and everyone else on here not being of the same mind set as her I can guarantee that it won't be the same as hers, whatever word you choose.

I have a question. I try not to pay too much attention to the Real Housewives of the Crazy Right Wing. What does DBO stand for anyway? I'm out of the loop. I've never known either. It is a reference to President Obama being a dictator in the form of North Korea...'Dear Leader' ... as in Dear Barack Obama. It was an all encompassing concept that he had a secret Muslim agenda, taking the country down the path of authoritarian dictatorship, was building a secret police force under the auspices of FEMA (along with FEMA detention camps) and stripping away our ability to resist by taking away our guns. There is more of course, but basically, it is supposed to be an absolute insult.

So apparently the phenomenon of "alternate truth" originated right here st 2peas.
