I apologize if this has already been discussed, but I'm hoping we have enough interest, and the approval of the admin, to get a For Sale or Trade board.
I really appreciated being able to buy and sell items at 2Peas. It was a great part of the community for me, knowing that people knew what they were selling and were excited to get deals.
I hope we can get it going. The board on 2Peas had a Good Sellers list, which was maintained and added to, so people could see who had a good history.

I don't know if my Best Sellers list would work here since so many changed names! But that IS one of the top things that I thought when I realized 2 peas was down forever, no gallery and no FSOT!

This was posted by the admin a few days ago: Definitely no for sale or trade, not getting involved in that No gallery either I will wait a little while until the dust has settled and I can review what requests people have made for boards before I make any more changes to the structure. I am listening - just not rushing to do anything just yet. Setting up this board was definitely a bit of a rush job, and I need some time to think about how I want it to look in the long term. So please don't think I'm ignoring your requests if I don't act on them immediately

Any ideas on how to make a go of a scrapbook message board without a gallery lol?

If it wasn't too hard to make it happen I would like it. I'm amazed and so appreciative that we have someone who was able and cared enough to set up this site for us.

I didn't mind it when the majority of the FSOT sales where gently used, or bought but just never got around to using, supplies. But once it turned into a resale marketplace for Studio Calico and other kit clubs, it lost its glamour for me.
So, I wouldn't mind seeing the former, but I have no interest in the latter.

So, I wouldn't mind seeing the former, but I have no interest in the latter. I agree with this. At one point, I ventured over to the FSOT board and the entire first page was Studio Calico resale. I would also like to see something that resembled the original FSOT board. However, I do understand admin not wanting to get into that AT ALL because in all honesty, I wouldn't either!

I understand her reluctance, too, and I'm fine with that. A message board of this size is a huge undertaking, and I can see where she wouldn't want to be involved in the added headaches of a FSOT board.

Boards like this can be run for free. But to have a gallery takes server space - and that wouldn't be free. You aren't probably going to find anywhere online that would host a Gallery like 2Peas had for free. Since this is just a Pea who created the Board on a whim the other day with no notice, I don't blame her for not wanting to take a Gallery on at her own expense.

Did I read somewhere once there is a Facebook group for scrappy selling? Anyone know what it is? That might be an option.

I'm a member at UK Scrappers and there was a huge deal a few years ago about the 'marketplace' (as they call their FSOT board). The people involved in the transactions looked to the site admin to help sort out problems and it was just so much of a headache. The owner put in place limitations:
DO NOT REPLY TO POSTS
ALL REPLIES THAT ARE NOT PRICE REDUCTIONS BY THE ORIGINAL POSTER ARE DELETED AND NOT SEEN. THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN ARRANGE TO BUY SOMETHING IS VIA A PRIVATE MESSAGE (PM) TO THE SELLER
Scrapbooking related items ONLY - no cross stitch, knitting, clothes, toys etc. UNUSED items may be sold. If sold as NEW AND UNUSED must come in original packaging and kits must be 100% complete (no missing items - otherwise, may be sold as USED and priced accordingly One post per week. No more than five items (but an item can be a pack of old papers or a bag of part used stickers etc). No duplicates. Old papers/cardstock, no more than 10p per sheet). COMPLETE kits may be sold as new No Sizzix or Cuttlebug over £15, no Cricut carts over £25, no SU agents, no CM agents. One big clear out twice a year in January & July. 25 items per week. No links to blogs - Photobucket is allowed All items must be lists, no 'email me for details' posts. Adults only. UKS members for 6 months before allowed to sell BIG ticket items (over £50) must be sent "signed for" and with Proof of Posting.
Read rules before posting. If your post does not fit the guidelines the text will be deleted and the reason why added Check the rules again carefully and PM Mary Anne (user name maryanne) if you need clarification Mods can not assist in transactions gone wrong and UKS cannot resolve disputes. USE THE TRADER RATING SYSTEM both before and after arranging a sale.
That must have helped because the drama dropped dramatically (as did the number of posts in there). I seem to think that a lot of people now use FB for scrapbook sales as someone else suggested. Also the site allows for a trader rating system and as you can see, was for long term members only so that a track record could be identified.
I have to admit that I wouldn't want the hassle of it either.

I'd love to see a FSOT board, but I think it's smart to take it slow.
I love our new home, thanks!

Someone was asking about where Peas would resell their items on Studio Calico's forum. I suggested Splitcoast Stampers website. I haven't sold anything there so I'm not sure how active it is but this could be a good alternative until something better comes about.

A FSOT board would be nice since I'm downsizing. But I understand the Admin not wanting to go there. I've sold items on Ebay before so I might go that route.
