I purchased a couple of 'different' embossing powders a while ago, and have not had much luck with them. I have used heat for slightly longer on them, I have used heat from on top and underneath, I have let them cool down then reheat, I ensure that I shake the containers so the powder and other bits are mixed evenly - what am I doing wrong???
They are: Ranger snowflake tinsel and Ranger holographic
any ideas, or experience with them?

I have a diamond white embossing powder that is similar to snowflake tinsel. Those tinsel/glitter powders don't melt smooth. They tend to be a little lumpier/uneven. Is that what's happening for you?

Yep - the finished (?) embossing is not smooth, but feels rough and uneven. It feels/looks like half the powder has not melted. Am I expecting something that it's just not going to do???

Tinsel is never going to be smooth like most of the other powders, it just wouldn't be tinsel if it did. The more you heat it, the worse it will look. That goes for all the embossing powders. You just heat it until it starts changing and it is done. Trust me, I've overheated a few in my time!

It's the glitter. It won't melt so it will be lumpy. I have a sparkle clear that melts smooth because the glitter is ultra-fine. But the glitter/tinsel ones will not be that smooth.
