I remember reading here I believe a new'ish service where you can order your groceries, and then just go into the store to pick them up. I don't remember if it was just certain stores, or in certain markets only?
Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
Thanks!

In our area, each store does its own thing. We don't have a separate service to call. One store delivers, another gets everything ready and you just pick up.

The only stores around here that do that are in the Kroger family of stores (ours is Payless). It's called ClickList.

In our area, Lowe's Foods has that service. I believe Publix may too but they don't have their grand opening until tomorrow so not sure.

Kroger ClickList, of Walmart.
We use the Kroger one. You don't even have to go in. You order online, then drive up to a pick up spot at your scheduled time the next day. You call the number in the sign to let them know you are there, and which spot you are in, and they bring them out, and load them for you. You pay at pick up.

Where I live, Kroger has Click List Meijer uses Shipt - the drawback with this one is that you don't get the store's sale prices, which is weird. They deliver though.

Yeah--thanks so much! I just checked, and Kroger Clicklist is available at a store close by. There's another store only 5 minutes away, but I haven't found anything for them yet. I'll look into them some more. I'm so excited, I absolutely hate going to the grocery store. And now, I can even send my dd after school to pick up the groceries.

Stop & Shop here uses Peapod. There is an option to pick up or have groceries delivered.
ETA Shop Rite has their own delivery service and I think either one of the Whole Foods and/or Fresh Market have pick up.

Walmart and king soopers (Kroger) have it here, but not all locations. I don't remember if Safeway is starting that service or not.

I believe she will have to have a credit card to pay for them - they go through everything and make sure any substitutions are acceptable, and then you pay for what you actually take. (so you can't pay in advance online)

I did it for the first time at Walmart the other day, and it was wonderful. So pleasant and easy! I'll try Kroger ClickList next.

Peabod has some pick up stations. I'm not sure which would be closest to you. I've used the one in Schaumburg. That one is slick. You pull up, pop your trunk and they load your order.

Yup, that is what they do here. You place your order online, add your credit card info, pull up to the pick up area during your scheduled time, unlock the car doors, they come out and load up the car, and you sign for payment. It is 2.50 for pick up. So easy! If you get it delivered they will carry everything into your kitchen if you want. I always use that when cases of bottled water are on sale so I don't have to carry it. Delivery charge varies depending on day of the week and time. The food is coming from a distribution center in the area so they may not have everything that is in the store but they seem to add new items often. I think Peapod has been available here for at least 5 years and I don't know anyone who hasn't been happy with it.

Well my celebration was short-lived. I didn't look deep enough at the ClickList site, because when I went to sign up the only locations were pretty far away (and not the grocery store I thought). Peabod has some pick up stations. I'm not sure which would be closest to you. I've used the one in Schaumburg. That one is slick. You pull up, pop your trunk and they load your order. My next step is to look into PeaPod. I'm going to have to look closer to see if I can pick up somewhere, or if I have to have it delivered. I'm in the SW Suburbs so Schaumburg is not an option. I'll also look into Wal-Mart to see if any of the stores near me offer the pick up service. Thanks!

And...Peapod doesn't have a local pick-up location near me. I'm going to check out Wal-Mart, and then move on to Peapod delivery. I can't believe all the time I'm putting into this. I could have gone to the store and been home already.

Check Walmart, too. In my town, it is the only option. In the next town over, Kroger does it. I like Kroger better, so I will order for a time when I know I'll be passing by (I pass by it twice a day some days).

They aren't offering the service anywhere near me either (I couldn't even find if it was offered anywhere in Illinois). The best I could come up with for now is Peapod home delivery. On a positive, they are offfering $20 off first order and then free delivery for the first 60 days. So I'm gonna give that a whirl.

Thanks for the suggestion, but even the Whole Foods here doesn't offer the service.

I literally live above a nice grocery store and I hate to go shopping. Total first world problem! If you have Instacart in your area, I think you can pick up.

mommaho Dang, I just checked Meijer and the local store here doesn't offer it either. I've hit a brick wall. So I'll stick with trying Peapod (don't really have a choice, lol). I guess these services are rather new and haven't started in more markets yet? I hope that's it, and it's not because my area has been passed over, lol.

I haven't tried it yet but daughter loves it at our local Kroger store. She hates taking her boys to the grocery - the 3 year old makes it almost impossible according to her.
I have to chuckle to myself because I took three daughters to the grocery and everywhere else and just made due, shopped from my list and prayed I didn't forget anything so I didn't have to go back that week!
I hope you find something that works for you. I have heard the Amazon shopping is great especially if you have prime!

We use Walmart and love it.
I've found we save a little money also , because it's easier to compare price per lb. or oz. to see what's the better deal. And of course there aren't all the impulse purchases we make when we go inside to shop.

I don't understand why these services aren't available at any of these places by me, and I've checked them all now: Walmart, Meijer, Whole Foods, our local grocery chain (which is a pretty big chain and owned now by Safeway I think). Hopefully this will be something offered locally soon.

Now he begs to go shopping with me, but I've gotten used to going at night, alone It depends on the kid...my other 3 were happy to go shopping because they knew I was buying them food...

I used to cringe when I had to take my ds with me to the store. That boy would have a fit sitting in the grocery cart--he always wanted to get out. He was also the same sitting in a stroller. It was maddening.
