In the past I would've just said no thank you and hang up. But the peas have inspired me. I got a call asking me if I was the main computer user and telling me that my computer ID had been corrupted and when I use my computer people in other countries were actually getting all my information. So I let him go to the information and Write down a number for a new address. I have an ask him to repeats couple parts and would purposely say them back wrong so that he would have to correct me. Then I ask you again who is calling from. I finally ended it with a question, how can my Windows system become corrupted if I'm not using a Windows machine? It was fun!

I got this call over the weekend. I burst into laughter and said "You're ridiculous. Go find something else to do with your life"

When I told the jerk on the phone that I didn't have Windows he told me that was OK, that Windows and Mac were now working together. I asked him if his mother knew that he was stealing from people and wouldn't she be disappointed in him. Then I let loose with a few expletives of my own and hung up on him. I did manage to waste a few minutes of his time tho.

My problem is that I say hello several times and no one answers! Then I redial and get a busy signal.

Got this one this afternoon. Asked the heavily-accented conlady if she could tell me exactly which of my four computers (I actually just use a tablet here at home) was the one with the problem and she hung up!

I adopt a very pleasant and interested tone and reply "Bu****it" to everything they say. Nothing else, just that. It confuses them, but because I sound friendly, they plough on for quite a while before hanging up.

I got a call on my cell over weekend. The accented caller asked for a man, I told her she had the wrong number and she said "that's okay, maybe you can help me". Click!

I got the "Can you hear me?" call yesterday. Obviously I just hung up. I usually screen, but my new phone deleted a bunch of my contacts. I should have let it go to voicemail.

I love those calls! I try to engage them for awhile and then I ask them if they think I just fell off a turnip truck and they usually get snotty and then I just hang up on them.

LOL...I get those type of calls at work sometimes. We have our own IT department, and each of our computers have a unique number. So I kept asking the guy which computer he was calling about...I asked for the asset tag number. Some of our IT techs are Indian, and have heavy accents. So I was just making sure. He never identified himself except for saying he was from the computer department. LOL! And he couldn't give me the asset tag number and had no clue what I meant. Finally I just hung up. But I kept him on the phone a good 10 minutes! I would've kept him on longer, but I had work to do.

I think my Dh looks forward to retirement so he can f*ck with these callers. He's one of those that can go on and on to the point where you just want to stop what you are doing and listen in. He would have made an epic crank caller. J

I have tried several previous answers mentioned on other threads, good fun when I have nothing to do. One call I just said no to every question, another I asked which extension they wanted over and over. Today I asked if "Peter" minded being recorded, he asked why I wanted to do that and I said it was to pass on to the data protection Police (no such thing). He got very snotty and said that I wasn`t allowed to record him and asked why I wanted to get him into trouble. Answer at high volume with swearing, because you are a con artist and a stupid one at that so f off. I wonder why he hung up?

He told him he was really interested but needed a second, could he hold on. Then he put the phone in the freezer so the telemarketer couldn't hear us talk. Then went back 20 minutes later. The guy was still there. He said, sorry this is taking longer than I expected, can you hold on another minute. The guy said yes. When he went back 30 min later he wasn't holding any longer.

If I'm folding laundry or something that I can keep working and stay on the phone, I'm all about it. I figure if I keep the caller on the line with me for 20-30 minutes (which I have), that's 20-30 minutes less they'll have to take advantage of someone who isn't aware of their m.o.
