So now the trump administration has taken down information from the USDA website that provides the results from inspections of dog and horse breeders. One of the way to help eliminate puppy mills was the requirement in 7 states and the city of New York was that pet stores could only buy puppies from breeders who are registered with the USDA who would do an inspection of the facility and post the results of that inspection on line for those to check. Over the weekend that information, with no advance notice, was taken down. In its place was an announcement that if you wanted the information from these inspections then you needed to file under the Information of Freedom Act. It was implied that it was the Obama Administration who did it. But, kind of like the Yemen raid, an official of the USDA under the Obama Administration tweeted it wasn't us. What possible reason would trump and his gang have to pull this information? It's information that helps stop the abuse to dogs and other animals as well. It never ends with them.

I think it has nothing to do with dogs and everything to do with repealing almost every single thing from Obama's two terms.
It's like a "we'll show him" kind of school yard bully act.

When this country goes to hell in a handbag kettle (and it is rapidly heading there), it will be easy to point at the current administration and say...you fucked it up.

Puppies are clearly Democrats, and must be silenced.

This is only the beginning of the take-down of useful information from the web. I hope you all archived data that you need. If it's useful data that goes against any big lobbying group, it's coming down.

Who does he know that would benefit from that information not being available? That's the only thing I can think f that would be a plausible reason.
Or maybe he's just starting with small things, testing the waters, seeing how much the American public will notice and say something about before taking down big, universally important things.

My first guess would be financial ties to AKC/CKC/Veterinarian groups. In my (very Republican) area, those groups have done everything in their power to shut down any kind of domestic animal legislation (dog licensing, low-cost spay/neuter facilities, etc.) because it hurts their bottom line.
